Liz really couldn’t believe that Noctra was almost close to crawling now, she had been taking a lot more photos and now she decided that it was time to start organising the newer photos for her memory board, especially with the photos from Parents Weekend a few weeks ago.

She was trying to be good about getting as much admin work done as possible but the photos were definitely more interesting so she was spending most of her morning going through the photos instead of doing her reports.

And with that eagerness to start being mobile all on her own, Noctra was very clearly against the idea of being tied down into place in her usual sling when Prompto came down with lunch that Thursday, making a fuss and doing everything she could to let her irritation with these limitations on her freedom to wobble and scoot very well known with kicking feet and lots of squirming.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," he was saying as he came downstairs with his hands full, too, "hold on to your chocobos, we're almost down to see Mommy, then I can let you down, okay?"

So he was maybe a little flustered from the combination of fussy baby and having to be a Firm Adult to the tiny person he'd give the entire world to if he could, and it showed in his smile to Liz as he came over to plant a kiss on the top of her head in greeting. "Hi," he said, wasting no time in setting down the food and drinks he'd brought down so he could then release Noctra from her unjust captivity. "I made some chicken salad, hope that's okay."

"Hi," Liz smiled fondly at the kiss and then she took a few moments to coo down at Noctra, "chicken salad sounds amazing thank you, how has she been this morning?" she asked as she looked up and noticed that he looked a little bit flustered.

"Restless," Prompto said, with a sound that was halfway between frustrated and amused, and, for emphasis, Noctra let out a little irritated wail of her own until Prompto freed her from the sling. She immediately started reaching for Liz, and, at this point, there was definitely no hesitation in handing her over. "Girl's just like me, once she gets moving, she just can't stop."

Liz smiled at that as she carefully took Noctra in her arms, trying her best to sooth her, “she’s growing up so fast, I definitely think she’s not going to slow down once she gets going,” she said fondly.

"Yeah," Prompto chuckled faintly, "I hear they tend to do that. I'm half worried if I blink, she'll be all grown up entirely by the time I open them again."

Liz smiled at that, “I know what you mean, I can’t believe she’s eight months old already,” she waggled her fingers in front of Noctra who had started to settle a little, “this year has gone by so quickly,”
