Trooper Station, Friday

With the Halloween decorations up, the station cat had apparently decided it was an appropriate time for her to resurface and make an appearance. Just to let people know this was still her domain and all. After carefully inspecting the decorations, she decided to settle in for a nap on Watts’s desk.

At least until shortly before lunch, when she apparently decided Ralph’s chair was the better napping spot.

Watts, meanwhile, was not getting much in the way of work done, not even after his desk was clear once again. He was far too preoccupied with the fact that he was going on vacation tomorrow.

Someone else was preoccupied about going on vacation. He was certainly having his regularly scheduled freakouts about whether he was packing enough of everything he needed.

But not so worried he could not make lunch for his beau. Hence at lunchtime there he appeared at Llewellyn's office door, insulated bag in hand. "Hello, you."

“Hello, you!” Watts said brightly, hopping down from where he’d been sitting on his desk and going over to Steven, kicking the door gently shut with one leg and then pulling him close.

Well if the door was being closed and Steven was being pulled close clearly the next thing that needed to happen was for Steven to kiss Llewellyn to greet him properly.

Yes, exactly. One of the many reasons Watts loved Steven was that he understood what was being facilitated here.

Likewise one of the things Steven loved Llewellyn was him doing such facilitation. Saved so much time on getting to the important things.

"Love you," Steven murmured between kisses.

“And I you,” Watts replied. “So very much.”

Steven bumped their noses together. "Almost time for our holiday."

“Are you still packing?” Watts asked, having a good idea of what the answer would be.

[hasaknightjob]

"I keep worrying about what the weather will be like," Steven admitted. "If I'll be dressed right for it."

“You’ll be fine,” Watts said. “I would focus on clothing you can layer, as the mornings tend to be cooler. And,” he shrugged, “they have shops there. If you or I do forget to pack something we can simply buy it when we arrive.”

"Right," Steven said, though he still looked uncertain. It was possible there were going to be at least three pairs of his glasses tucked into his suitcase.

It’s possible there would be at least one pair in Watts’s suitcase. They were traveling to multiple cities after all, and things being left behind from stop to stop was a possibility.

That he wasn’t going to remind Steven about in this moment.

“I am also happy to let you borrow anything of mine you may need,” he added with an impish grin.

Steven grinned back. "There were some good outcomes there, I must say."

So to speak.

“I found myself very- satisfied,” Watts agreed. As if Steven didn’t know that already.

Steven blushed. "Well. Yes. Certainly something I wouldn't mind doing on holiday either."

Well, now that impish grin transformed itself into one that could more accurately be described as ‘delighted’.

“You wouldn’t, hmm?” Watts said.

"Our rooms are going to be nice, aren't they?" Steven pointed out. His grin was still shy, but pleased. "Should get a chance to enjoy them, yeah?"

“Oh, trust me, even with our rather busy itinerary, I’ve made sure there will be time enough to enjoy the rooms,” Watts assured him.

"I've good memories of our rooms in the past," Steven said. He kissed Llewellyn again then stepped back. "Here. Let's get lunch on, shall we?"

“Let’s,” Watts agreed. As usual, he made sure to pull Steven’s chair out for him before he sat.

Steven took the chair with a grateful look, then set about unpacking and plating up black bean salad and some hummus and cut vegetables.

"Since we're leaving for the week I thought it a good idea to make up something that used up the veg," Steven said.

“Good thinking,” Watts agreed, as he looked over the salad appreciatively.

The salad was fairly evenly mixed but Steven made sure that Llewellyn's plate of cut vegetables had more of the ones he preferred. "There's another container with some of your wonderful bouquet in it for dessert."

“All I did was place the order for it,” Watts said, blushing slightly.

"It made me smile and feel loved," Steven said. "So it was wonderful."
