Right, so....Prompto knew that, with his fifty million jobs and a very energetic eight-month-old at home, his attention could be pretty focused on his work and his family, but he liked to think he would have noticed something like the whole street outside the shop, you know...changing like that...

Maybe he'd just missed something? Maybe the island decided it wanted a facelift and to change its entire quaint and rustic aesthetic?

Or maybe something weird was about to happen, and he half wondered if he should start planning to spend a nice little impromptu weekend on the mainland just to make sure Liz and Noctra stayed safe during whatever this was gearing up for.

And right before his birthday, too, man! What were the odds??

Liz hadn't quite realised just yet about anything unusual outside the shop just yet when she came downstairs with Noctra at lunchtime, "hi," she smiled fondly, "are we interrupting?"

"Hi." Prompto smile was distracted, but relieved, when Liz and Noctra made it down. "And you're not...not really, anyway, but, um....uh....do you remember hearing anything? About some kind of new look for the town?"

He had a lot of jobs and a kid! He missed a lot of things!

Liz tilted her head thoughtfully, “I don’t think so?” she said, “even though I haven’t listened to the radio lately,” she admitted, “why, has there been some changes in town?”

That was a bit of an understatement.

"Big time," Prompto said with a snort. "Go look outside, see for yourself. Big, wide streets like in a city, traffic lights and everything. I guess maybe the island wants cars now? I mean, it's not the first time it just changed on a whim, but it just seems weird, you know?"

Liz blinked a bit at that, "that is definitely different," she looked towards the door, "I wonder if its going to be a permanent change or if this is just for a few days?"

"I just hope," said Prompto, his brows furrowing with concern and worry, "that, whatever it is, it's not, you know...the start of something..."

He took a moment to cover Noctra's ears and mouth the words really fucked up to Liz in an exaggerated way so she could follow it.

"You know?"

Maybe he was just paranoid, but he felt like, you know, he kind of had a pretty good reason to be.

Liz nodded at that, understanding what Prompto's concern was, "I know," she said softly, "hopefully it will be all back to normal in a couple of days? Maybe the island just felt like changing itself up for something different?" she tried to think optimistically but well they both definitely knew what Fandom was like.

"Well " Prompto said, looking worriedly toward the window again, "we'll keep an eye on it, I guess. But as soon as things start to get really weird, maybe it's still for a nice trip to the mainland or a visit out to the BPRD."

Liz also looked over towards the window, "that sounds like a pretty good idea, especially with this time of year and all ... " she said softly, "I think it wouldn't hurt to get out of Fandom for a few days,"
