The Photo Hut; Monday [11/06].

With the exception of a gig on the mainland that sucked up a good deal of his Saturday, Prompto had spent most of his weekend on the floor, on his stomach, sometimes with a cat (helpfully) on his back, because Noctra was so, so, so close to starting to crawl and he figured it would be good to try and encourage her personally and by example. She's almost gotten it at some point, but mostly, she seemed to just be nailing push-ups in a way that would make Gladio proud.

He reminded himself that she'd get there in her own time, and not to push her or anything, but he was actually more worried that it was going to happen while he was working and he'd miss it. Granted, he reminded himself that it's not like she won't continue crawling after that, but getting to see the first time was a big deal! There was a good chance he'd actually miss a lot of those first milestones firsthand, like her first word or first steps or something like that and that made him feel kind of sad.

So he was just going to try to focus on editing this weekend's photos and getting them all set for his client, all the while with the store music on low as if he could hear if any little babies started stomping around upstairs without him.

There still hadn’t been any stomping by the time that lunchtime rolled around, “hi,” Liz smiled as she came downstairs, even though Noctra was looking a little unimpressed at being carried and was fidgeting a little, “are we interrupting?”

"Hi," Prompto looked up from the computer with a grin, pushing back in his chair to show how much his attention was on them entirely now, "no, not really, just going over the shots from this weekend."

But that grin faded a little with a tilt of hosp
head and an overexaggersted pout when he saw how fussy Noctra was being.

"Looks like someone's being a little cranky!

"Noctra," he clarified, a beat and a blink later, "not you, Liz."

Liz grinned at that, "I don't think she likes that she still has to be carried everywhere," she said with a fond smile as Noctra fussed a little, "especially when she's so close to crawling,"

"Well, then, said Prompto, pulling himself importantly as he adopted a Very Serious and Very Stern tone of reprimand, even going so far as to lift his finger and give it a little playful shake Noctra's way, "maybe someone should finally just go ahead and start doing it!"

He chuckled a little, unable to keep that straight face for very long, and then offering to take her for a little bit with his hands held out.

"Famous last words, right? We should be enjoying it while it lasts."

Noctra was very fascinated by that finger and tried to reach out and grab it, as Liz carefully handed her over, “I know I can’t believe she’s so close to crawling, I think we’re definitely going to have our hands full trying to keep up with her once she starts,”

Prompto took Noctra from Liz and shifted her a little on his lap so that she could just go ahead and take that finger like she was wont to do while he bounced his knee a little. "If the weather's nice tomorrow," he mused, "maybe we can take her to the park or something after my class; maybe she'll like how the grass feels in her teeny little hands and it'll motivate her to move. But, you know, I guess we don't want to rush her, either, I'm just worried I'll end up missing all the excitement of her first starting because I'm stuck at one of my fifteen million jobs," cue the eyeroll, "or something."

Liz smiled softly at that, “you know that sounds like a wonderful idea, I’m sure Noctra would love to have a play on the grass and maybe it could happen then, I think she’s pretty eager to try and start crawling,”
