The Perk, Friday Afternoon

It was a very dreary sort of day today with the rain and fairly chilly temperature. Naturally Stark was combating this with a very sugary caffeinated drink. Not an iced one, for obvious reasons.

He also ended up with a bag of peppermint bark to eat because according to the batista who served him it was National Peppermint Bark Day.

The candy went well with the peppermint mocha and Stark was currently content to sit by the window watching the rain.

He would be listening to the rain if he could. Unfortunately it was drowned out by the music coming from, of all places, the coffeemakers. And various phones and the microwave and the cash register.

[having an odd day over here, so weird almost forgot to add the bells in, this is very open for caffeine and alien needs!]

Since his own apartment apartment was apparently not an option right now, looks like Gladio was heading to the Perk late that afternoon to get some reading in.

Only to remember once he got there about the music.

He grunted with annoyance.

Looks like maybe he'd have to give up and just ship off to Nell's after all...

"Hello, Gladio," Stark said. "The song followed me here. Or maybe it's everywhere? It's that time of year, I suppose."

He shook his head ruefully.

"I got used to it. Mostly."

"No," Gladio reassured (??) Stark with a sigh, "it's everywhere, it's not just you. There was a whole thing about it at the gym, but I kinda forgot about it when I thought about coming in here to read."

Definitely not happening now! But he lifted his chin a little in a sort-of greeting at Stark before asking, "But how's it going, man?" He gestures in the general direction of the Perk's speakers. "Holiday cheer notwithstanding."

Were the treadmills beeping out the song, somehow? Was the claw machine?

"Well enough," Stark said. "Nothing to complain about since Tuesday, at least. Except, maybe, the music. And you? No. No maybe. The music is worth complaining about. A little."
