Ever since Summer came in, trudging through some of the powder sugar snow, Apu had been giving her dirty looks and shaking his head at her, and she could not understand why. She thought maybe it was because she'd tracked in some of the powdered sugar snow, but, no, that guy loved sweeping things up off the floor, that couldn't have possibly have been it. She was expecting some complaint about Prompto, then, because that was usually a thing, too, but no such luck. He just kept looking at her, expressing some sort of disappointment or disgust, and then going about his day.

It wasn't until she was doing her inventory and ordering for the week, swinging by the aisle that had all the footwear in it, that she noticed a sign declaring a very specific discount, and she looked down at her usual black flats, that she'd changed into after switching out of her white winter boots.

"Seriously, Apu??"

She was going to have to see how he liked wearing a brown shoe straight to the face if he wasn't careful.

At some point during the day after he'd gone out to get lunch and immediately regretted his life choices, Stark sent a text.

Emoji were, like, the easiest thing in the world; Summer could argue they were even easier than typing words, but she was very proud of him, yes, and she smirked a little at the text before responding back.

She did not include an emoji, because she was being nice and sparing his poor brain. After all, he was at work at a medical facility, he might need his wits about him still.
