The Photo Hut; Monday [12/11].
All of Fandom's holiday whimsy definitely took on a different feel when there was a kid who was just learning how to crawl and trying to figure out talking, so Prompto was incredibly glad when he realized that today's thing was not only simple, but also very welcome for a guy who had been spending too much time trying to keep a baby from getting tangled up in garlands and not terrorizing unsuspecting tiny horses or trying to put a million marzipan fruits in her mouth all day. Plates of potato pancakes? That was pretty manageable; he was pretty sure Liz wouldn't even have too much trouble handling that one herself, so he didn't have to feel guilty about leaving her to handle it while he was downstairs working.
Plus? Gotta love free food! It was nice to know he didn't have to spend too much time cooking today, at least, although he could already hear Iggy's disapproving A man cannot live on latkes alone, Prompto, to which he just laughed out loud and declared "Ha! Watch me!"

Had she been done with holiday shopping with her commission to Amaya? Yes. Had she woken up this morning with visions of more gifts dancing in her head? Yup!
And when that was combined with throwing money at people she liked, who was she to deny herself the fulfillment of her own whims?
(Not that she was inclined to do so anyway.)

"Hel-loooo the customer!" Prompto sang back, with a little lopsided grin, not even needing to look up from the computer to recognize that greeting, but he, of course, still did, shifting a little to lean on the counter. "At least, I hope so! How's it going, Liliana?"
no subject
"There are fried potatoes everywhere and they're not attempting to make me kiss anyone or trying to bite me, so I'm going to have to say I'm doing very well. Though, I must admit, I'm coming to make your day significantly more difficult."
no subject
The first half of Liliana's answer kept that grin on Prompto's face, but it dropped very rapidly at the last part, taken over by something a bit more wary and suspicious and mostly just trying to figure out if she was being serious about that or hyperbolic, because here he was, just enjoying how nice and easy today was....
Brows knitted with a mix of worry and hope, he asked, "Just how significantly more?"
He did not feel like he knew Liliana nearly enough to even guess where that answer could go, but the fact that she was with someone like Ignis did not make him feel very confident in that respect.
"But, yeah, no," he also felt compelled to add, "the fried potatoes are great. Definitely down with more food-related days and less 'ohgods, keep the baby away from the sentient decorations!' ones."

"I have come with a list of pictures that I want printed off of my SD card," she said crisply, "and I shall need a
handwavynumber of frames to put them in. And I need a very top-secret and very important favor from you as well."no subject
"Printing and framing?" he said. "No problemo. I can probably have that done by the end of the day, unless it's, like, a hundred or whatever, but I can finish it up tomorrow. Buuuuuut...."
His Very Intrigued Face tilted her way; he threw in a bit of a speculative beard-stroking, too.
"Top secret, you say? Secret enough that I should engage in a little..." His fingers danced a little in the air, before one of them made as if sipping from a very, very tiny little bottle or cup, "squirrel bribery?"
And, ohmygods, if this very secret, very important favor didn't somehow involve a mutual acquaintance with a tendency toward cooking and being fancy, Prompto was going to be so disappointed!
A second later, he thought of a few other options for who it could be about that were acceptable and exciting, too, but, obviously, none of them would be as thrilling as, well....you know...
NFB from here, please!
"You know, that wouldn't be the worst idea," Liliana said thoughtfully. "If you'd take care of that while I start looking for appropriate frames, that would be delightful."
Once Prompto finished his squirrel bribery and rejoined her, she turned towards him with a conspiratorial grin and said, "I need to look through your pictures from Eos," she said. "The ones with Ignis particularly, though if they're all together, I won't complain about looking through the ones without as well. I'd prefer the ones associated with happy memories best, of course." Her grin grew wider as she said, "You may have to regale me with some of the associated stories, of course. Just so I have the appropriate context."
Re: NFB from here, please!
And, with that taken care of, he eagerly turned toward Liliana to listen with rapt attention, though as soon as she mentioned Eos, something in him shifted. Still excited, still eager, but far more seriously so. A soft smile for the idea, a little tug in his chest, and the shimmer in his eyes became less just the thrill of a secret or being let in on some clandestine plot, and more of...something else.
"God," he breathed out with a little bit of a laugh, maybe slightly forced, as he shook his head. "I haven't looked through those old photos in ages."
But of course he still had them. How could he have ever gotten rid of them?
"They're all digital, of course," he told her. "Couldn't really print out too many of them when we were on the road," and the ones he had printed? He'd given to Noctis. "But I got all the cards upstairs, it'll just take me a moment to grab 'em. I can even transfer them onto a digital frame for you, that way, you can just take 'em with you and go through them yourself, if you want. There's a lot of them, we'd probably be here all through tomorrow trying to get through them all. And then....you can ask me about any of the ones you have questions about. Lotta good ones of Iggy, too, don't worry, some really good ones of all four of us, too...
"Not a lot, though," he admitted, with a little bit of a half-hearted shrug, "from during the Long Night. I mean, you know...terrible lighting during those days."
Yup, that was definitely it, it had nothing to do with all those years they spent drifting apart, like the one main piece that held them together had busted then all apart, chain snapped away from an anchor...
He was quiet then, for a moment, before his head tilted, and though his face turned toward Liliana like he was looking at her, his eyes remained down, up until he finished talking, when they did, almost pointedly, drift back up to her.
"Why do you ask? Just curious?"
Re: NFB from here, please!
And then told him her idea.
"I'll need you to draw me out a symbol of your group," she said. "The...Kingsglaive, I think he called it? To put it on the one of the four of you. I intend to have Amaya engrave the appropriate initials on each one, plus that one, so he knows which one any of them are at the brush of his finger."
She met his gaze and, if one looked closely, they might notice a hint of uncertainty in her gaze for a moment before it was blinked away. "What do you think?"

Around lunch time, she and Noctra came downstairs, "hi are we interrupting?" she asked as she came over.
no subject
"Hi," Prompto looked up and waved the latke he was currently munching on in the air. "Only snack time, but snack time has been all day, so...."
He quickly finished off the current pancake so that he could wipe his hands a moment on his pants to free them of debris as he held out his hands for the habitual baby exchange.
(Boy, what a different now, compared to months ago, when he flailed about even going near her without washing his hands first!)
"How's the morning been?"

And even though his reaction was very overdramatic, it was pretty clear that he wasn't at all that upset, especially since as soon as Noctra was settled, he bounced her a little and grinned at her and lifted one hand to tickle her belly. "You gotta belly full of potatoes today, huh? You more of a tater tot today than a chocobo nugget?"
