Steve was in the office bright and early and found the Troopers in the back huddled around a television.
"What are you doing?"
Calvin told him.
Steve's eyebrows arched up. "Reviewing old crime footage, huh?" He moved in closer. "These are Christmas-themed murder movies," he said with a snort. "Really bad ones."
This assessment didn't stop the Troopers from watching, and eventually it didn't stop Steve from offering commentary from his desk about their terrible police procedure, inability to follow up on leads, and the possibility that the baker was probably secretly a serial killer.
Man, Steve missed serial killers.
The Trooper Station was open!
