Luke's Diner; Tuesday [01/09].
Since it was National Apricot Day, the diner seemed to have received an unexpected abundance of the stone fruit, as was wont to happen in such occasions, and while Ignis had a completely different idea for his specials board this week, he did love a good challenge, and, presented with this information and the rather enticing smell of all those surprisingly fresh apricots, he quickly set to conceiving of some entirely new recipehs to suit.
But first, he was going to make himself a cup of coffee, which was, perhaps, a bit more needed that morning that usual. But it was well before he got to the bottom of it that he was already snapping his fingers and getting to work in bringing his ideas into fruition.
Today's Specials
Apricot Brie Grilled Cheese on Challah with Truffle Fries
Apricot Spinach Salad with Avocado Basil Dressing
Apricot Crisp
Luke's is open!

Amazing she'd slept this late - they'd gone to bed so early!

There was a soft smile, at his hands being so completely rendered useless for the time being, and he eschewed the errant thought to say something as altogether tacky as pointing out that her hands weren't so empty now.
"Ah, yes," he said, instead, "what a tragedy that would be. I can hardly fault you for your sense of priorities, dear, but that does leave me to wonder however will I survive if without any additional caffeine? Surely, there isn't a single drop that could possibly be procured throughout this entire establishment..."

"Likely not, which is why I'll need you to stay strong through this most troubling and uncaffeinated times," she teased. "I believe in your fortitude, my darling, though I will understand if you need to withdraw to conserve your strength." Reluctantly, she freed one of his hands, but only because she needed to run the backs of her fingers over his cheek. "Even knowing you make a finer brew here, I still enjoy bringing you coffee when I come visit," she murmured. "Ridiculous and inefficient, I know."

Like, perhaps, say, spending money on living spaces barely actually lived in, just to pull a random example from the ether, apropos of nothing.
"And," a little extra emphasis on the word to stress the weight of the next words as a far more important consideration, compiled with a squeeze of the hand he still held, "besides, I do rather enjoy it, when you bring me one. It helps break up the monotony, so the same old cup throughout the day."

"It is what any gift is, large or small, at its most basic level," Liliana murmured. "A reminder."
