When Summer came into the bar for her shift that evening, Tino was dressed up as Ben Franklin, complete with the the iconic bald top and everything. Summer definitely did not and would not ask, and she made a deal with him that he would not tell her so long as she agreed to have today's cocktail be what he made for the night.

She squinted a little as she considered it, and then put out her hand. "Deal."

Also, she insisted that any Ben Franklin-esque womanizing and drinking were strictly off the table.

Yes, Tino dressed the zombies up like other founding fathers, because of course he would.

Summer can't help but feel like the phrase 'Ben Franklin's Milk Punch' now being in her lexicon is just an act of karma, really...

Because there's so much pepper at the bar that you need some distance, really.

Where at some point you might actually see Benjatino Franklin on that bull, maybe.

"Mical is being very annoying about trying to rush me back home, so I'm stalling," Atton informed Summer as he sat down. "And swinging by to ask for any requests before I head back up. Preferably long ones."

"Do I know who Mical is?" asked Summer, with a faint grin, especially since she was pretty sure she heard the name tossed around at least once, but beyond that? "But I'm sure pacing yourself through some jello shots is a good way to stretch some time, unless you're really in the mood for something else. And, I don't know, what's the longest song you know? Just do that. Or isn't there some Iron Butterfly song or something that's, like, notoriously long? Unless I can convince you into the long version of 'All Too Well'."

That? Would actually kind of make her night a little bit, ngl.

"The guy currently running the Temple and calling himself 'Grand Master', which I think is hilariously stupid," Atton said. He tilted his head. "All of the long songs I know are prog and I'm not going to inflict that on you. 'All Too Well'?"

Would the zombies be playing anything from Hamilton?

"All of your specials sound a bit... frightening," Stark admitted.

"Hello, Summer."

"Honestly," said Summer, "if it's long enough, at a certain point, it just becomes background noise anyway, and 'All Too Well' is a ten-minute long Taylor Swift song."

She'd gauge his reaction to that before deciding whether to continue nudging.

"Also," she added, "Grand Master does sound like he's just way too into either chess or role-playing games."

Maybe Stark should just go up there and sing something with them!

"Hello, Stark," said Summer, smiling, and she set before him the Cherry one and the Mango one. "These are the least scary. The pepper in the cherry one is Dr. Pepper, not, like, habanero or anything. But, well..." Her smile got a little bigger. "Still on a pepper kick, I guess. But loo at the Sriracha ones!"

And that was how that one got added to the line-up. "They're in peppers!"

Yes, she'd put jello shots in things before, but she was clearly particularly proud of this one.

"Taylor Swift, huh," Atton said, reaching for his phone. "You mind a slightly sarcastic interpretation?"

The pleased smile immediately on her face answered well before Summer's words did, as she lightly shook her head. "Not at all," she said. "That's just giving it your own little artistic flair, right? Making it your own."

Stark didn't know any showtunes!

"They are in peppers," Stark said appreciatively. "Very cute. Yesterday wasn't spicy enough for you?"

Should he have come looking for her after his gym visit?

"Then sarcastic ten-minute Taylor Swift it is," Atton announced, already rising from his seat. "Because I like the thought of me doing this while Mical is eating himself alive."

"All right," Atton said, getting on stage shortly after talking to Summer (and giving the lyrics a quick scroll on his phone to see what he was getting into). "I'd like to dedicate this one to Summer Smith and the guy who can't stop leaving me voicemail messages. Who even does that anymore?"

He nodded at the zombies.

"This is 'All Too Well' by Taylor Swift."

And he even knew how to make it just the right amount of lightly-sarcastic as he dug into the song.

And you know what? Spiteful T-Swift karaoke was definitely something Summer could get behind, and she was never not going to love someone going up there and throwing out her name in dedication, either, even if she did have to share the credit pretty heavily.

"You know," she said, once he got back from the stage, looking still terribly pleased with all of it, "I usually give a free shot with a karaoke song, but I think that one's earned you two, if you want 'em. And now you can also use the bartender gushing about your performance non-stop as an excuse for being stuck here longer, too."

Maybe it was a good time to learn!

"I guess not," said Summer, with a grin, and she added the last remaining shot to the line-up, because why not, and then blinked a little as a thought struck her while she did it.

"Ohmygod," she said, looking stricken, really, with not knowing how to feel about this, "I just realized that Tino's weird special tonight actually kind of works with the shots because they say drinking milk help with the spice from peppers."

Yeah, you know what? Atton was going to hold his hand up for a high five on that last one. "Probably shouldn't get anything alcoholic," he said grudgingly, "But everything else, I'm game. A little praise goes a long way."

Summer grinned probably way too much to be met with a high five, and she laughed a little, shrugging a shoulder. "Got virgin versions of all of 'em," she told him, "but the cherry one and the mango are probably the better ways to go unless you're, like, super into spice. If not those, then I'll do a nice shot of orange juice or something with you to celebrate your continued delay."

"Let's do cherry and mango and then see how much the sugar makes me lose all sense of sane drinking, all right?" Atton said, managing a faint, amused smile at all of that.

"Did you see Anakin tried all of the peppers yesterday?" Stark asked. "Maybe we should have had milk for drinking for him."

He picked up his pepper with jello inside and took a bite, making sure to really crunch.

"Have you tried these? Or the others?"

Had she tried Tino's?

"Good plan," said Summer, approvingly, as she went to pluck the two shots in question off the virgin tray and in front of Atton, and then went to grab a glass of water, too, for good measure, especially since he did pull through ten minutes of vaguely sarcastic singing. "So...is this Grand Master Mical trying to rush you back for any specific reason, or is it just a general nagging sort of micromanagement?"

Summer shrugged. "I took a nibble of a Sriracha one just to see how that was working out," she said, "but I don't really try a lot of them for myself. I'm pretty confident they turn out fine, I could practically make this shit in my sleep, and also, like, personally? So over jello for myself. It's like a baker who doesn't really eat sweets because they're around them so much themselves, you know?"

As soon as she asked it, though, she grinned. "Or maybe you wouldn't, what with you being a sugar addict and all."

"Same problem from last week," Atton sighed. "He got a new lead and I think he's getting antsy."

He reached for the shot. "Thanks."

"I like sugar," Stark said in what was at least the biggest understatement of the week.

He grinned back. "But spicy is good too. I just wondered if you'd tried these because of the spice. I think I like this one." He popped the rest of it into his mouth as if to prove the point.

"Should I try the ghost one next?"

"I don't know," said Summer, quirking a challenging eyebrow at him. "Should you?"

Oh, she should have maybe brought popcorn for that one.

"Meanwhile, you're probably in less of a rush to have to deal with it if that lead turns out to be a good one," Summer guessed.

"Yeah, and I like having a life," Atton said, knocking back the shot. "... Nice. How's yours been, anyway?"

"What if it's so spicy it burns my mouth?" Stark returned.

Surely Summer might have at least a mild objection to that.

"Is there a reward for trying it?"
