Trooper Station, Friday

There wasn’t really much to do today, actual-work wise. Even the normally endless reams of paperwork had been finished for the week.

Thus, Watts was spending his time today researching the various Caribbean islands and potential vacation destinations.

Though of course the Trooper station was open if anyone did have any Trooper-related business that needed attending to.

Did lunch with the man in charge count as station related business? For at the appropriate time there was a Steven coming in to Llewellyn's office. "Hello, you."

As far as Watts was concerned? It absolutely was.

“Hello, you,” he replied with a smile as he stood up.

Steven closed the door behind them and came over to the desk to get in range for the rest of their greeting. But he put the bag down first. "Things going all right so far?"

Watts nodded. “Quiet,” he reported, before pulling Steven in for a kiss.

Did it help break the quiet if Steven made a happy sound at the kiss? Because he did.

"Hello, you," he said again when they parted.

“Brightest part of my day,” was Watts’s fond reply.

"Means a great deal if I can dispel some darkness for you," Steven said. "Here, have a sit, I'll get the food out."

“You’re unmatched at that,” Watts told him, sitting down as directed- though not before making sure Steven’s chair was pulled out for him.

"My gallant detective," Steven said, smiling at the gesture. He sat down then began to portion out chili for the both of them, with some of Llewellyn's bread on the side. "I thought this might be good for a cold day. Though that means chili is a play on words."

Which of course was an extra benefit in Steven's estimation.

“Very amusing,” Watts noted with an indulgent smile. “And very hearty looking.”

"Is it all right I did your bread with it?" Steven asked. "The recipe had recommendations but I thought yours would taste best."

“Darling, I make that bread with the purpose of it being eaten,” Watts pointed out. “So I am pleased that you would want to serve it alongside something you had made.”

"It's my favorite anyway," Steven admitted. "I'm glad we had one of your heartier ones available. I think it goes best with this."

“Happy to oblige,” Watts said. “And you can always ask me to bake something in particular, you know. I take requests. From you.”

Anyone else was a case-by-case basis.

That from you made Steven feel warm inside. "I will. I promise. Bread or otherwise. I'll admit it's nice how you spoil me."

“It’s nice being able to,” Watts said with a shrug before taking a spoonful of chili.

“And speaking of nice- it like it,” he said approvingly.

"Yeah?" Steven looked happy. "I added a little more heat to it if that's all right? I know we don't mind our spices."

“Just the thing for a day like today,” Watts said with a nod.

Llewellyn taken care of with his food, Steven tucked in to his own. "So what have you been doing with your day?"

“Research,” Watts said. “For our upcoming holiday.”

[hasaknightjob]

"Yeah?" Steven perked up. "Any prospects?"

[pocketpretzels]

“There are so many islands, it’s almost a little overwhelming,” Watts admitted. “But I am leaning towards Barbados.”

[hasaknightjob]

"Any particular reason?" Steven asked around a mouthful of food.

[pocketpretzels]

“Not at first,” Watts admitted. “But after looking in to it, one of the resorts I found has a rather excellent variety of restaurants with different cuisines, all with a number of vegan options.”

Food was very important!

"That's nice," Steven said. Then, in case Llewellyn was worried, "I'm not fussed about any island in particular. Lovely beaches, good food, you, all I need really."
