Dite's Decadent Delights | Wednesday
Irene had emerged from her flat yesterday and come into the shop only for the trilling opening notes of a Disney anthem to press her into inviting an unseen audience to look at this stuff, and question how neat it was -- which had sent Irene, who knew about this day, turning on one heel neatly to go back upstairs and follow Fashion Week coverage from the bathtub, thank you. Mental health day.
(Her dog was, of course, unfortunately named if one didn't want to find oneself singing to a bulldog all day, but she had dealt with that admirably.)
Today, though, she all but peeked 'round a corner when she entered the shop, and even opened her mouth to let out a soft, "La la la?"
And nothing. Beautiful.
Normally, Irene liked to put on some music when doing something as tedious as sorting out pink and red dildos for a display, but today silence was welcome, thanks.

"Can't really blame 'em for messing up this time," she announced as she set one of the normal-ass cups in front of Irene. "They are having a day at the Perk!"

For the record, trendy though they might have been, Irene would have had strong reservations about drinking from something that shared its name with a hockey trophy.
(...was she getting old? Did she not like those cups because she was too old for them and had only the barest interest in TikTok? Banish that thought.)

"No," Amaya answered, emphatically and gratefully, with a shake of her head and a bolstering sip of her coffee, "thank the stars, more than enough of that yesterday. But apparently, they've got these new cups that'll make you go feral. Bet the nurses at the clinic won't be too bored this afternoon at least!"

"What, like, diseased cups?" Irene wondered, imagining something more akin to the sex pollen, but spread through cups and also violent. She looked askance at her own cup, briefly, then Amaya's, before landing on, "I'm very grateful you were unscathed."

Just wait until she found out about the accessories.
"But, yeah, I definitely kept my distance," she added, trying, and mostly failing,to not just be delighted that Irene would be concerned. "Not bad as a spectator sport, really."

But it was both insulated and voluminous, Irene! And also very pink!
