The Infinite Consortium, Monday Afternoon
"Well," Liliana said, hands on her hips as she looked at this week's delivery, which was easily ten feet tall and equally as wide, "this isn't going to be a pain in my ass or anything at all, now is it?"
She looked from the crystalline star floating a foot or so off the ground over to the display window and back. "At least I don't have to try to pick it up," she muttered, kicking the remains of the giant crate that had housed the star for transport out of the way so she could push the floating star over to the display window. She didn't know of anybody on the island who would possibly want the giant thing, useful or not, but it was very sparkly, so it was possible somebody would.
Except the stupid star barely budged. Even floating, it was just too heavy for her to manhandle around. "Guess I shouldn't have made strength my dump stat I am not going to have a floating star just hanging around the center of my store," she said, glaring at the artifact in all its ridiculous absurdity. "...Wait. I still have that haunted armor, right?"
Five minutes later, the haunted armor was dusting off its gauntlets. It only had a helm, but Liliana could tell that the whole suit was practically preening at her. "Yes, yes, very good," she said crossly. "Just remember this later, when you're the one bringing it down again." The armor stopped preening, looking back at the star with something like dismay. "Oh, hadn't thought of that, had you?" The armor's helm creaked as it shook back and forth. "Too late for it now, I already know you can do it. While you're out here, grab a broom and start sweeping up the remains of the crate, I like keeping the walkways clear."
For...reasons. Shut up was the reason.
The haunted armor stomped off to the back to get a broom, creaking and groaning the whole way. "And put some oil on those joints!" she called after it. "I won't have anyone saying I'm selling rusty armor!"
Still, now that the star was out of the way and she could sit again, she had to admit it threw some lovely rainbows whenever the sunlight hit it.
