Luke's Diner; Tuesday [02/06].
Ignis tried, in general, to not let himself get too distracted by other things so that he could focus more on what was in front of him, but with the exceptionally high amount of idle knife-twirling he was doing behind the counter and in the kitchen at Luke's today, he was....not exactly succeeding.
In his defense, there was an awful lot to think about, and on all sides of him, as well. Behind him were the events at Thraben and everything that went along with that. Presently, there was his birthday and the small party Liliana was planning for him, a thought that did manage to pull a soft smile out of him, even if, at the same time, he felt like it was just an unfortunate distraction from more important things. And ahead of him was the trip this weekend, and sort of planning out a rough itinerary for it in his head, a mental exercise he was sure Liliana would tsk at, but also, she couldn't expect to bring him out to Argentina and not expect him to want to find the most efficient and industrious ways to get the most out of it while they were there...
And so, yes, distracted, which meant quite a bit of knife-flipping in his idle time, which also meant a good deal of the staff just sort of watching in fascination, especially when they were sure he was absolutely going to miss one of those catches and their day was going to get a lot more interesting.

"Hello, my darling," she called in good cheer, as she had neither been rudely thwarted by the vagaries of baking, nor did she have any idea that Ignis was thinking ridiculous thoughts like his birthday distracting from so-called 'more important things.'

"Hello, Liliana," he said, as he caught the knife, obviously, and he couldn't help the small grin for the disparate response from his oh-so-captive audience, half sighs of relief, half groans of disappointment.
And besides that pleased little smirk, Ignis ignored them to smoothly thunk the knife into a cutting board and went to go greet Liliana properly: kiss first, then coffee.

Some things were worth NOT waiting for. His response was not one them. That kiss, however...

It probably didn't help much, either, that when it conclude, Ignis responded with not an answer to Liliana's low question, but with another of his own.
"Are you hungry?"
no subject
"Will you make something for me?"
Some people would point out that was literally his job. Those people had no idea what she was asking.

"I suppose," he drawled, instead, because she was exactly who she was, "I might be able to whip something up. Are you in the mood for anything in particular?"
no subject
"Something with spice," she decided after a moment's thought. "Something warming, without being heavy." She smiled at him, which he heard perfectly well in her voice without even needing to see her face. "And enough for two, in I can convince you to give into your excessively leisurely side and have lunch with me.

"It may be a bit, though," he added, with a smile that lost all hope of being convincingly apologetic the moment he began speaking and only half-heartedly was putting in the effort, anyway.
Maybe leaning forward to brush a soft, gentle kiss against Liliana's cheek would help?
Then again, probably not, seeing as it turned out to be just a way to make it that much easier to simply whisper the next part into her ear.
"You do know how I loathe rushing a good thing."

A moment later, a chilly hand was smoothing the wrinkles in his shirt away, wrinkles said hand had caused when an odd spasm caused her to grip it. Likely too many somatic components to spells or something.
"Now that you mention it, I do remember something to that effect," she said, hand leaving his shirt tidy once more. "Fortunately, what little patience I've managed to cultivate all goes to my ability towards things worth waiting for." She snagged his hand, turning it over, and brushed her lips over the inside of his wrist, an echo of the first kiss she'd given him, that first night on the beach.
