JGoB, Friday Afternoon

It was warmer today, at least, though Stark would have enjoyed some sun instead of clouds and rain.

He was still going to sit by the window once he'd picked out some baked goods. There were no more pink and red heart-shaped things left and it was a little early for bright green ones. There were, however, some space-themed items available.

"FIgured they might sell well for people going on the trip. Or people not going on the trip. Or aliens," the guy behind the counter said with a grin. "Want some galaxy cookies? Or cupcakes? Or what about these cheesecake bars?"

Stark, being Stark, was going to try one of each. Obviously.


[Very open, of course, for all baked good and alien needs! It's a day off, I am around.]

Gladio was making a pit-stop at the bakery today, to pick up an order of treats for his staff at the gym, since he was heading over there now to go over some of the stuff for Sonja to take care of while he was gone for the week. And, of course, he was going to give Stark a nod and a lift of his hand in greeting when he saw him.

"Hey, Stark," he said. "Got anything there you'd recommend?"

"I like the cheesecake bars best, I think," Stark said, looking up and smiling.

"But it's all good. As always. Hello Gladio. How are you?"

"Pretty good," Gladio gave him a grin back and made a note to pic up a few extra of those cheesecake bars on his way out again to bring home to Nell. "Just picking up some thing for the guys at the gym, to get 'em all set up for me being gone all next week. You gonna be going on the school trip, too?"

"I am," Stark confirmed, smiling a little wider now. "With Summer, again. I'm looking forward to it."

Seeing some corner of space where he probably wouldn't be recognized and where Summer's grandfather wasn't likely to be was exciting!

Gladio nodded slightly, a faint quirk of a grin for the detail that Stark felt the need to include. "Gotta admit," he said, "a big old exclusive space resort isn't really my style when it comes to vacations, but I'm sure there's plenty that'll surprise me."

Oh, famous last words.

"And I'm sure they've got some fantastic gym facilities, too. Maybe I'll even get some ideas for Atlas while I'm there. It'll be nice, though, experiencing something different."

Sometimes Stark just liked to say that detail out loud. Because it was real.

"I've gone to that space spa that Summer never shuts up about with Summer. I liked it. And we went away to a fancy resort at Christmas. And the place we went last year, in Indonesia, that was beautiful. I'm sure this will be lovely. Just don't spend too much time looking at the gym."

Nell would probably make sure of that.

"Well, I'll be spending at least every morning in there," Gladio pointed out. "That's practically tradition, at this point. But after that? I'm sure there'll plenty to do."

And then, thinking pretty fondly on all the times he and Nell hit up just the onsen here together, he had to ask, "Is there anything that makes a space spa any different from a terrestrial one? Except the fact that it's in space?"

"The staff," Stark said. "The location. The desserts in the hotel room. They cater to all sorts of species, I think, and employ a number of them. And there's a pool that smells of strawberries...At least at the one I've gone to with Summer."

Stark grinned again. "I'm very much looking forward to finding out what sorts of new and different things this new location will offer."

They were all going to be so sad when things went wrong, weren't they?

"I think I may skip the gym next week though. We'll see."

"Really?" Gladio asked, shaking his head a little. And then quirking an eyebrow. "Not even if Summer decides not to skip next week?

"We haven't gone at the same time most times recently," Stark pointed out. "But...perhaps if I get a sticker?"

Right. The sticker would be the real motivation there. Really.

Surely there would be plenty of exercising happening on the trip regardless of gym status?

"I might be convinced to go a gym. Or a spa."
