Luke's Diner; Tuesday [03/05].
Usually, when coming back from a trip and heading back into work at the diner, Ignis liked to plan a specials board around the flavors of the area he'd just experience, and the problem with that this time around was that the flavors of where they ended up left something much to be desired. And while there were still some distinct, fresh, even tropical flavors he still recalled from the feast provide at the very end of their stay at the intended location, there was still one flavor that was clearly standing out as the one that helped him get through the rest of the week.
He might have also liked to have gone with something a little more...subtle, but, at the same time, the fact that it wasn't subtle was one of the things that Ignis liked so much about coffee, so...well, there you have it.
Today's Specials
Coffee-Marinated Flank Fajitas with Pico de Gallo
Grilled Greens Salad with Coffee Vinaigrette
Mocha Raspberry Millefeuille

"I say," she said, coming over to the counter to lay down her usual offering of Perk coffee, "I do believe that my delivery is even more extraneous than usual. Whatever shall I do? Perhaps it would be best to keep it then for myself...?"
no subject
But, just to be safe, he was going to claim the offering before it could be so summarily retracted.
"There's no such thing as extraneous coffee, besides," he informed her, taking a pointed sip, which seemed to warm his smile the way it did his insides. "And this is particularly welcome, darling, thank you."

Her hand slid over the counter, brushing her cold fingers over the backs of his warm ones before sliding between them and offering a soft, fond squeeze.
no subject
An expert who was gratefully entwining his fingers in hers to give a similar squeeze right back.
"And when one considers the quality of coffee," he continued, "it is important for one to also consider the source."
He brought that cool hand in his up to his warm lips.
"And I am not referring to where the Perk obtains its beans."

If threatening to take away his coffee had been the declaration of war, then let this be the first sally. Once his lips left the back of her hand - though she could still feel the warm imprint of them on her skin, bringing a smile to her lips even as her thoughts were moved to warfare - she tugged their clasped hands back to her own mouth. Though instead of following suit and brushing her lips over the backs, she turned them over, exposing his inner wrist.
First, a kiss, cool and soft. Then a nip, sharp and playful. And last, a quick flick over the spot with her tongue, to soothe the sting away.
"You were saying, my darling...?"
no subject
"Oh," he said, "something inane and inconsequential about coffee or war or whatever else, I'm sure. All the while, you're there and clearly famished, and I haven't even offered anything to satiate that hunger..."
no subject
"And we've talked a great deal about your ability to satiate my rampant appetites," she agreed, still keeping hold of his hand.
He'd gotten coffee, she got his hand. Perfectly fair trade.
"If left hungry, I've been known to take matters into my own hands."
They frequently prided themselves on trading double entendres. Liliana was quite smug to have attained a triple. Lacking in wit? Her? Ha, never!
