The Magpie Emporium, Thursday (3/14)
"No, sorry, we don't carry TCG singles," Steph was saying to someone on the phone. "Because first of all, I honestly have anyone here who's enough of an expert on the insane intricacies of that whole deal to make sure we aren't going to get totally screwed over, and second of all I've talked to enough other game store owners to know that it would be the number one guaranteed way to get my store broken into and I will not be having that, thanks. Yeah. Sorry, bro."
She hung up the phone and looked down when she felt a tap on her ankle, expecting to see Little Bot there with someone's lost mini or fancy pen and finding one of the gremlins instead.
"Gah!" she yelped, and then realized the gremlin had its hands tucked behind its back and was looking at her with (somewhat unsettlingly) the gremlin equivalent of the wide-pleading-eyes emoji; once it realized it had her attention, it held out a small notepad for her to take. Which she did, unaware that Saffron was watching the gremlin intently from the top of a cabinet behind her.
"YOu... want to offer your services as overnight security?" she asked once she'd finished reading it. "That's really nice of you, but seriously, it wouldn't be a practical business move for me right now. God, I really just said that, huh. No, but listen, if I ever change my mind about that? I will let you guys know. Okay?"
The gremlin seemed to think so, as it nodded and scurried back over to the game of Blood on the Clocktower it was playing with the other gremlins.
Which left Steph free to peruse the playtest materials for this new open-beta TTRPG, so hey.
[OOC: Open!]
