Luke's Diner; Tuesday [03/19].
With fresh venison at home waiting for him to work his magic in the kitchen at home for dinner, Ignis' attention wasn't terribly invested with his specials at Luke's, especially since he was almost positive that anything found in their inventory wouldn't hold up to the quality of what Gladio had brought home from Soulwood. He could be wrong, of course, but he doubted it.
Either way, he was fairly distracted as he was more invested in future cooking than current cooking, but he was here to do his job, and so naturally he would try his best to keep his focus here.
Or at the very least on the coffee pot. That he could do without much effort at all.
Today's Specials
Venison Mushroom Brie Burger with Garlic Truffe Fries
Vegan Mushroom Lentil Shepherd's Pie
Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Luke's is open!

Liliana, shockingly, didn't share well.

"Actually, yes, darling," said Ignis, "I have clearly decided to use our venison. At the diner. For burgers."
There. Hopefully now she could hear how ridiculous she sounded right now.
no subject
"...That is a fair point," Liliana conceded. "But I thought you said venison was rare? And that was why you were so excited to get some."
And yet here some was, being wasted in the diner. For burgers.

"Deliciously," he informed her, "of course. Though now I'm quite curious myself, especially if you feel there exists a great disparity in comparable options here on this plane..."

"Not even counting the sapient races," she said, since these were for eating, "there are wurms-with-a-u, coatl, iguanar, ceratoks, rocs, hydra, binoxes, anurids...my darling those are just some of what I can think of immediately on Ravnica. Nor have I mentioned the edible flora as well." She laughed and shook her head. "That I've not introduced you to irrimberry wine yet--" the slightest bit of unsteadiness in her voice at the mention of it "--may be grounds for a very aggrieved lecture, at the very least."
She stole another kiss. "Perhaps I can win you back from the Soulwood yet."

He'd almost he worried about the expectations placed on his preparation for it tonight, but, no. No, he knew dinner that evening would be spectacular.
And now he was going to steal that kiss right back.
"That wine," he said, "sounds like an excellent place to start..."
Even more so with that slight falter it had given to her words...

The only thing she had to fear losing him to was herself.
She leaned in close, breath chill against his skin as she whispered, "I know very well where your devotion lies, and I assure you, Ignis, I intend to keep it." Cold fingers stroked up his throat, and the under his chin as she tilted his face to hers and kissed him again, this time a kiss heavy and ripe with promise. "Mine," she reminded when she eventually, reluctantly, pulled away.
Dratted diner. The Consortium allowed for much better endings to their kisses.

"Yours." He murmured the agreement, fingers brushing against her cheek, for a lingering moment that was already almost too long to endure before kissing her again, smothering words on his lips that he'd dare not utter, anyway.

That groan made her fingers twitch with the desire to lose themselves in his hair, the others to press her nails into his shoulder through the cloth of his shirt. The kiss swallowed her Yes, agreement to his declaration and also something more, something she couldn't say, regardless of how she might feel.
"I'm hungry," she said softly, the yearning in her voice making it clear she wasn't talking about his propensity to make her something special. "Is it your lunch break yet?" In case he needed help deciding, she claimed his lower lip with her teeth, a sting she left for him to soothe with his tongue.

His lips found the hinge of her jawline.
"And I believe I am quite overdue. What do you think, however, about us taking this one...to-go."

She was very, very glad they'd kept it for duration of the construction.
And then she was tugging on his hand to bid him come around the counter, because if he decided he was going to head into the kitchen for actual food, she might have to do something drastic.
