The Perk - Tuesday Morning

Yesterday had been nice and distracting, even if he wasn’t entirely sure what was going on and when he and Connor had found it was still the same that morning, Cutter had suggested that they go to the perk after another rather distracting morning.

It was also really nice being able to be out the of apartment for longer than a couple of hours and it had been a while since they’d been at the Perk so he thought going for some coffee would help.

“It’s nice not being under house arrest anymore,” Cutter smiled as he and Connor got their coffee orders.

There had been so much back and forth, of more than one kind, over the last 24 hours. But Connor had agreed that getting out of the apartment would be really good. So he sat with Cutter at the table at the Perk and couldn't get the grin off his face as he looked at his fiance over the cup as he took a drink.

"Never thought just being able to enjoy a cup of coffee without watching the clock would be so amazing" he said with a nod.

"I know," Cutter said with a happy smile as he gazed at Connor, still feeling rather flustered as he sat back in his chair with his coffee, "its so nice to be able to take our time with our order and actually sit down for a change, I've really missed being able to do this," he added.

Connor smiled and took a sip of the coffee as he shifted in the chair. As he did his foot brushed against Cutter's leg lightly. Connor's face flushed a little but he smiled as he moved his foot again, more deliberately.

Cutter's smile was wide as Connor's foot brushed against his leg, he felt his face flush and then, with his own foot, he began to brush against Connor's other leg.

"Is it just me... or the coffee... but is it getting a little warm in here?" Connor asked as he grinned over at Cutter.

"It does feel a little warm," Cutter agreed as his face flushed even redder if that was possible, "I mean, it could be the coffee as well," he added with a grin of his own.

"Or maybe it's the engagement jitters still" Connor considered as he reached out and took Cutter's hand in his. He looked down at the ring on his finger as he gave Cutter's hand a squeeze.

Cutter smiled as he held Connor's hand, looking at the ring, "I still can't believe we're engaged," he said happily.

"I know, it feels like an amazing dream. One I don't ever want to wake up from" he said as he leaned over and kissed Cutter softly, still keeping his fingers laced with his fiance's.

Cutter smiled as he happily returned that kiss, holding onto his hand tightly. "I never want to wake up from this dream either, I love you so much Connor,"

"Love you too Nick, so very, very much" Connor said as he leaned in again and kissed Cutter again. It was then he started having a small inkling of what might be going on... when he realized he didn't care who else might be at the Perk or who else might see them.

Cutter very happily kissed Connor back, it was oh so very nice and ... familiar ... he was starting to get an inclining based on what happened last year but then he was really enjoying getting to spend time with Connor outside of the apartment, getting to celebrate their engagement and no longer being under house arrest.

There really WAS a lot to celebrate... and this was the PERFECT way to do Connor thought as he kept the kiss going, the drinks all but forgotten on the table just then. He was content to just focus on how nice it all felt to be back to something more normal and being able to celebrate this new chapter with the man he loved.

Cutter had definitely forgotten about the drinks as he tried to keep that kiss going for as long as possible and focusing on how very nice all of this was, getting to celebrate all these wonderful events in his life with the man he loved more than anything in the world.

Connor finally broke the kiss reluctantly and smiled at Cutter, cheeks flushing a bit as he did. "Ok I think there's definitely island shenanigans going on... not that I mind. Not at all" he said with a broad grin.

Cutter's own cheeks were bright red as well, "it does seem like the island, doesn't it," he agreed, his smile was wide, "I definitely don't mind, maybe the island is helping us celebrate the engagement?" his smile widened.

"Oh I will definitely take a week like this over some of the others the island has thrown at us" Connor agreed with a laugh and a broad grin. "This is a nice way for the island to help us celebrate though" he said with a grin as he leaned over and kissed Cutter's cheek.

Cutter smiled happily as he leaned into that kiss on the cheek, "its definitely one of the nicer weeks," he agreed as he reached out to stroke Connor's cheek, "and definitely a nice week to help us after being engaged and ending house arrest," he added.

"Maybe after we have our coffee we could go for a walk? We haven't gone to the preserve in a while?" He gave a small almost shy smile. "I don't want to head back to the hotel just yet... not after spending all that time there the last few months."

Cutter returned that shy smile, "I think a walk in the preserve sounds wonderful," he said, "maybe we could even head down to the beach afterwards? I mean ... we've got all this time now right?" he said his cheeks flushing slightly.

"Sounds good to me... cant think of a better way to spend the day. Well... I take that back, I can. But we've already spent most of the morning doing it so, something different sounds nice." And oh look that flush was deepening even more for some reason.

"Aye maybe having some fresh air is not a bad idea," Cutter said lightly as his own flush was deepening, "but I wouldn't say no to doing more of that later," he grinned.

"Think we have the plans for the day then" Connor said as he gave Cutter's hand a squeeze and gently rubbed his hand.

Cutter smiled fondly at that, "I think we do, I think it sounds like the perfect way to spend the day, I'm looking forward to it," he said shyly.

"Same here... can't wait" Connor said with a grin. And then as if to prove it he leaned in closer and kissed Cutter again.

Cutter had no problems with that at all as he happily kissed Connor back, keeping the kiss going for as long as they possibly could.
