The Perk, Saturday Late Morning

Sometimes you just needed a breakfast sandwich and a very large and sugary coffee-adjacent drink.

Stark had avoided the lavender coffee drinks so far because they just didn't appeal but he was perfectly happy to try other new flavors. He really enjoyed the churro iced latte and that was what he had today.

He was seated at a table with his large sugary coffee-ish drink (with extra whipped cream) and his breakfast sandwich (with extra bacon) and looking out the window and occasionally at the door.

He was also occasionally looking at his phone and looking up things about Ireland in case someone still wanted to go there, sometime. There did seem to be plenty to do there.

Yukari had some pretty big plans that evening (i.e. she intended to stay up Twitch-streaming video games until the sun came up again), and so it definitely didn't hurt to start caffeinating now! So, one bery large, very strong, very sugary coffee later, she was taking a swig and taking a look around the coffee shop to see if there was anyone interesting there.

Hmm. Well. Guess Mask Guy would have to do instead.

"Hey, there," she offered up a cheery wave, "Mask Guy from that bar sometimes! How's it going?"

Well, Mask Guy was better than Starkers. Maybe.

"It's Stark," he said with a faint smile. He'd been 'Mask Guy!'ed often of late. "Hello. It's going fine. And you?"

"Stark!" said Yukari, with a snap of her fingers. "That's right! I knew that!"

And she'd definitely remember it, too!

"And I'm great!" she said, pulling out a chair at his table and plopping herself into it. "Thanks! Still a little bummed about that Waffle House apparently just being a pop-up, but there are worse things in the world, and plenty other places to eat."

She then leaned forward as if trying to scope out his phone.

"What'cha lookin' at?"

"I missed the Waffle House this time," Stark said. He'd been otherwise occupied that evening. Ahem.

"But I did like it the first time it was here. The diner has breakfast things, sometimes." But Stark himself never went there. Weird!

"And...Ireland?" Why was that a question, Stark?

"Ireland?" asked Yukari, doubling down on making it a question, especially since she questioned why it sounded like a question. "Like, the country? Isn't that over by ye Olde Ing-lahnd?"

A+ on the accent, there, Yukari. Nailed it.

"I'm not very good at Earth geography," Stark admitted. Or Earth accents so you do you, Yukari.

"But I think so? I might be going. With my...friend. We talked about going so I thought I'd look for things to do there. Or places to stay. Both."

"Coming up with anything good?" Yukari asked, straining a little more for a helpful peek at that phone.

Granted, Nyamo probably wouldn't be interested in visiting too many English-speaking countries and having to rely on Yukari as translator the whole time, but if Ireland was a good place to visit with a...friend, she was mildly more interested than she might have been otherwise.

"There's a brewery, and some distilleries," Stark said. "She might like those. I think. They have tours and tastings. And there's always food to try. I'm looking for other things now. Have you ever been?"

[id_kill_him]

"Nope!" Yukari admitted brightly. "But if there's booze and food, I'm in! When're we going?"

"We?" Stark repeated, blinking several times. "I was going to go with Summer if she still wants to...I just need ideas of what to do, first!"

[id_kill_him]

"Well, sure!" said Yukari. "The more, the merrier, right? And who knows? Maybe you'l need a Japanese translator, and then you'd be all set! And I'm good at thinking of things to do, too, although, I'll be honest, I think you're already on a pretty good path there!"

Most of her suggestions....wait, no, scratch that, all of them, actually...would have just been more food and booze anyway.

"I don't think she was looking for it to be a group sort of trip."

Oh no, he was going to be so awkward now.

"There are castles and things to visit, too. Not like the school, I think, but real ones."

[id_kill_him]

Awkwardness? Yukari's job here was done!

Except clearly it wasn't, because she was squinting at Stark skeptically for a moment before she shrugged. "You could always just ask her," she pointed out. "And I like castles. Lots of people like castles. Your...friend," there was a pause there, the squinting made a return, and she appeared to be scrutinizing Stark's response carefully, "like castles too?"

"She does," Stark said slowly. "And I know she'll like the places where they make all the alcohol. She's a bartender, at Caritas. Do you know her?"

Everyone knew Summer, right?

"And she likes trips and we talked about this, once. So I don't see why she wouldn't like it..."

[id_kill_him]

"I don't know," Yukari admitted. "I haven't really spent a lot of time at that other bar yet..."

Which was weird, because Yukari loved bars! Maybe she should stop in more, especially if she was going to go in and hitch a ride on this free trip to Ireland...

"It does sounds like a pretty great trip. I know I'm looking forward to it! If she doesn't like it, then..." Yukari shrugged, "too bad for her."

"Summer works on Wednesdays," Stark said helpfully.

"What other things would you do if you were going?"

[id_kill_him]

"Well, then!" said Yukari cheerfully. "I'll have to stop in on Wednesday sometime, do a little brainstorming with her as well! And, let's see...." Her head tilted thoughtfully. "Well, we've covered tours of the places they make booze, I assume they let you drink on those tours, too, and food is always important, and then....I don't know what else, I don't know much about the place if I'm honest, coming here's my first time out of Japan, so I guess....see the sights? Do the things? I'll look into it and get back to you, how's that sound?"

[stykera]

"I should look at nice hotels," Stark said.

He was just going to sort out this woman inviting herself on his vacation sometime in the future.

"It looks like Dublin is the city to go to? I can work from that."

[id_kill_him]

Because that definitely always worked! That would just give her the opportunity to really sink her claws in.

"Oh, yeah," Yukari agreed with a nod. "Nice hotels will definitely be a must! But Dublin! Sounds like a good place to start. What've you got on Dublin so far?"

[stykera]

"I like nice hotels. I took her to a very nice hotel at Christmas. I wouldn't take Summer somewhere that wasn't nice."

This weird woman could deal with whatever she got.

"I just know they have the alcohol places there. And some nice hotels. So I'm looking for hotels now."
