The Devil's Nest, Monday Evening

So Shirtless Thursdays were still happening during Annie's shift and Eric felt like he needed a theme for himself. Tonight he was trying out Man Romper Mondays and while he was certainly rocking the deep-cut red velvet, he could not say the same for Tiny.

"Keep the cowboy hat on, too," Eric said, "and serve everything in those red Solo cups that came. I'm going to see how much I hate decorating with license plates on the wall."

You left him unsupervised, Lucifer. He's trying out a honky tonk theme.

The bar was open! It sure was going through something!

Thor walked in, looked around, and...visibly considered walking right back out.

Extremely valid reaction tonight!

"Holy shit," Eric said, trying and absolutely failing to look casual.

Thor got that a lot.

"I seek employment," he said, sounding considerably more certain about this decision than one would think, considering the Nest's...everything tonight. If he didn't have something to do with himself, he would go stir crazy, and there were at present a miserable dearth of threats on this island he could hit with his hammer.

"You're hired," Eric said immediately. "I'm Eric Northman, and I own this place."

He looked around said place. "It is normally much more normal."

Well, that was easy. You didn't even want him to demonstrate his skills, Eric? Thor lived with Tony Stark during his raging alcoholic days. For a god, he mixed a mean martini.

"I will take your word for it," Thor said as he looked Eric over. There was a lot of him to look over, especially in that romper. "You are one of mine, are you not, vampire?"

"If you're Thor, then...yes," Eric said. "But it's been a while."

"I am Thor Odinson," Thor affirmed. You know, Norse god of thunder, looking for work as a bartender, it was all very normal. "Well met, Eric Northman." Regardless of your choice of dress.

Eric thought it would have been better met if he hadn't been in a deep cut red velvet man onesie, but he was keeping that to himself.

"It's nice to meet you," he went with instead. "Welcome to Fandom. Again."

We all made choices and had to live with the consequences of those choices.

Thor had to consider this for a moment before he recalled, "Ah, yes. The other versions of myself that have visited this isle. Stark spoke of them." Yes, you were still 'Stark,' Tony. "I am not they. This is my first time upon your shores."

"In that case," Eric switched to Old Norse, "//We are honored to have you amongst us, Mighty Thor.//"

"//And I am well pleased to be here, Eric Northman,//" Thor said in return. Hey, it beat many of the alternatives. "//When can I start?//" And would the bar be more normal then? Please say yes.

"//How is Saturday?//" Eric asked. "//Or you may have this time next week. That gives me time to order mead.//"

And Thor could overrule Man Romper Mondays.

Why would Thor do that, Eric? Think of the entertainment value that would be lost.

"//Saturday will be acceptable,//" he agreed.

Later, he or Don would remember that Jane worked at the other bar on Saturdays, but that was far from their minds at present, distracted as they were by...everything going on inside this bar.

"//Then I will see you on Saturday,//" Eric agreed. "Not that I'm chasing you out now!" he added hastily.

"//I should hope not,//" Thor said. "//I have not had a beer since my return.//" From where? No comment.

"//We can definitely assist with that,//" Eric assured him. "//Tiny, get Thor a beer. A very large beer.//"

Octavia also considered walking right back out again. Granted, her reasons were largely a little more personal, but... the new theming played a small part, still.

She came in anyway.

"I told you I'd do it," Eric said. "And then Thor came in and if I cannot have sex with a god because of this, I'm blaming Lucifer."

That seemed rational, Eric.

"... What?"

Welcome home, Octavia.

"Thor's going to be a new bartender here."

It was all very normal.

"Okay?" Octavia said, like it was both all the same to her and she was still trying to wrap her head around things.

Also, hold up:

"Wait, you didn't already give away my shift, did you?"

Eric grinned. "I haven't," he said. "He can pick a different day."

[okteiviakom]

"Good," Octavia said. Not that she was married to Wednesdays, or even to working here in the first place, but... She liked a little routine at the best of times, and even slightly more so right now.

And with that in mind, she looked around the club.

"You know Lucifer's gonna tear everything down if he comes in tomorrow, right?"

Eric grinned. "I know."

They were so weird.

Yeah, Octavia took one look at his grin and said, "You're a child."

"It's important to have hobbies that won't come to life and try to murder you."

Tiny.

[okteiviakom]

"Thought you were murderous enough yourself to counteract that," Octavia couldn't help noting, a little on the dry and raspy side.

Even if his current outfit kind of made her statement slightly harder to believe.

(And was kind of distracting.)

"Oh, I am," Eric agreed, stretching in a way no one asked for, "and it's frankly well beneath my ability to fight men made of toothpicks and olives."

Octavia was just going to make her way behind the bar now. Sure, she could've asked Tiny, but sometimes you had to do things yourself.

"Was there much fighting?"

"In the park," Eric said with a careless shrug. "I didn't want to burst into flame so I didn't go."

"I'm sure that was the only reason," Octavia drawled, while trying to decide between two bottles.

"And I don't care about 95 percent of the people here," Eric agreed.

"And Lucifer was already at sea, so..."

Octavia picked up the rum.
