Miguel, blissfully unaware of any oddities of the day, showed up for work and brewed the coffee as usual.
Then turned around to see two huge bushels of apples on the counter.
"What are these for?"
The cook shrugged. "They just turned up. I've been riffing."
"Riffing?" Miguel squinted at him. Which was, of course, lost behind his sunglasses.
"I like apples!"
Miguel sighed and went to make the specials board.
Today's Specials:
Apple dutch baby
Green apple curry*
Apple fries
Apple slaw
Apple strudel
Luke's was open!
