The vet mentioned to Prompto when he and Noctra came in that there was cake in the back room, if they wanted some (Noctra's excited shriek let everyone within a five mile radius likely know that of course she wanted some), but she had to put it up on top of the vending machine so that the cats didn't sit on it.

Of course, the cats still sat on it.

"Don't you get any ideas," Prompto said to his daughter, who he was pretty sure was still too young to really have mastered things like deception and subterfuge, but he had his doubts with that overly innocent widening of her eyes and looking distinctly away when he'd said that.

Furnado is open!

At some point prior to the beginnings of the shenanigans, Watts stopped by Furnado.

"Hello, Mr. Argentum," he greeted. "Little Miss," he added, with a tip of his hat for Noctra.

"Eye!" said Noctra, in a shouted greeting back, both her hands immediately going out toward Watts in what was clearly a misinterpretation of that tip of his hat.

Because why would he be moving his hat unless it was to give it her? Like Aunt Liliana gave her all her pretty shiny jewelry!

Prompto instinctual, gently, pulled Noctra's hands back. "Hey, Detective," he said with a faint smile. "How's it going?"

"Fairly well," Watts said, a little disappointed in himself for not having, like, a wrapped candy or something to offer Noctra (Though he'd asked Prompto's permission, first). Anyway!

"Yourself?"

Well, that would have at least been something! For now, all Noctra had was a very confused look and thr beginnings of a pout being sent between Watts and her dad, wondering why that hat was on Watts' head and not hers.

"I'm good," Prompto's head bobbed a little with the answer. "I'm good. Busy, obviously, but, I mean..." He gave Noctra a crooked smile and a light bop on the nose with his finger in an attempt to reset the look on her face, "No surprise there. What brings you in today?"

"Raphael," Watts said. "My cat," he added for clarification after a moment. "Has been making short work of his catnip mice lately, so I am in need of replenishing the supply."

"Heh, yeah," Prompto's faint smile softened a little more with that small laugh. "Can't risk running out of those. It'll be madness. Chaos. Riots! And we've definitely got no short supply of them there, that's for sure. Do you know where they are? Or did you need me to show you?"

"I do know where they are," Watts acknowledged. "But- are there any brands that are a bit sturdier than others?" he wondered. "If so, I would appreciate your recommendations in that regard."

Prompto's grin seemed to kick back up to the place where it had been before. "Oh, yeah,totally," he said eagerly. "Well, maybe not do much eith brands, but, like, materials? Like I know we've got these ones made out of a thicker material that we got for Rain that have lasted for a while now, even when you taken into account for how much they get just lost under stuff. And there's these sushi ones that came in? Not as durable, but they're cute, and the cats here have really been going nuts for them. Come on."

He seemed to remember he could walk and talk and started heading over toward the cat toys.

"I'll show you."

"Sushi," Watts mused. "Do you think the cats know the dish often contains fish?"

"Hard to say!" Prompto admitted, with a little bit of a chuckle as Noctra started to chant 'Ooh-see, oooh-see, ooh-see!' And, well, now he at least knew what to pick up for dinner tonight! "Especially with Fandom cats. But it might just bring out some sort of natural instinct by shape alone, or it's just the type of catnip they use. I mean, we got this one orange cat who just goes buck wild for the little fake Wasabi packet that comes with it, so who knows?"
