Lucy had a few things waiting for her when she came in -- she'd check in with Jarvis, and see what the most efficient way to work through the projects might be.

In a second.

First, though, she had brought an inquiry to the gremlin -- a shy one, honestly, and intended as the first olive branch of a hopefully long friendship.

"What's your favorite drink to make?" Lucy asked, eyeing the various syrups and bottles at the kiosk with interest. "I'm new to all this."

And that was how Lucy learned about boba, which might be her new favorite thing on the whole island.

"Hi!" Steve said as he walked through the store with a small casserole dish full of bacon-wrapped bananas stuffed through pineapple rings. As you do. "Are you having a good shift?"

"Hi!" Lucy returned cheerily as she looked up, smiling. "You know what, I really am."

Fun drinks had that effect.

She eyed Steve's casserole dish with mild interest (and a frightening lack of, like, alarm, really.) "Whatcha got there?"

"I'm in a class about making food with bananas," Steve said proudly. "This is bananas with sausage inside, wrapped in bacon and put into a pineapple, then baked."

Steve, why?

"I'm bringing it for Tony for lunch."

That would teach him to hide in the lab and not eat.

"Aww, that's nice of you," Lucy noted, looking like she did actually mean that. (It also didn't seem too gross to her? She'd at least try it! She'd had way worse, trust her.) "Did you make it yourself, then?"

Seemed to follow with the nature of the class -- and come to think of it, she'd totally heard about that class on the radio, yeah -- but still seemed worth checking just for extra effort-points.

"I did," Steve said with a grin. "I'm not a great cook, but I am trying. I've taken a few cooking classes over the years to try to get better."

It didn't really work.

"Hey, the important thing is applying yourself," Lucy assured him with a firm nod. "You can't get better at something if you don't practice, right?"

So keep making those banana and meat casseroles for your husband, Steve. Don't give up now.

No matter how much Tony cries and begs you to stop, even!

"Exactly! I'm normally a quick study." Maybe the recipes themselves were terrible, Steve? "I did what it said to!"

The midcentury kitchen was a terrible, terrible thing, Lucy.
