Rey's warehouse- Saturday

Rey was here most days. So it was weird when she showed up and found a woodchuck awkwardly gliding across the floor on a roller skate, and then looking at her like it was embarrassed she saw this. It stopped, looked abashed, and then slowly skated off where she couldn't see it.

"It’s okay!" she called. "I'm not judging!"

Anakin came in and caught the tail end of that conversation. "Is roller skating the new trend?"

"Maybe he's jealous he missed the party?" she shrugged.

"Was it a good party?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"It was a lot of fun. Very sparkly. Skating is not very easy at first," she said.

"Should we incorporate it here?"

Yes, Anakin, in a warehouse full of lava.

"I don't think we need to go that far," she said. "I can safely say I won't be using that in my Jedi career."

Weirdly, Tony used it all the time! Oh, Marvel, what the heck.

"That's probably true," Anakin agreed.

"Unless you want to skate," she teased.

[sith_happened]

"I really don't," Anakin said with a laugh.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey smiled. "I didn't think so. How are you doing today?"

[sith_happened]

"Very well," Anakin said with a smile. "We're heading up to Connecticut next week for the Fourth of July."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, that should be fun," she said. "What do you do in the summer? I know the holidays are all food."

[sith_happened]

"Luke will grill," Anakin said. "Rory's stepfather, not my Luke."

That Luke didn't know how to grill.

"And we'll watch fireworks and see a small town parade."

Imagine this Luke grilling though.

"That sounds cute," she said.

[sith_happened]

"It is," Anakin said, smiling, "but Juliet and Christopher are feeling like they're getting too old for it."

[thatwaslucky]

"You can do that?" She of course would think it was awesome.

[sith_happened]

"Only when you're a teenager," Anakin said. "Then you realize it's not dumb to enjoy things."

[thatwaslucky]

"Sometimes I think it's not an entirely bad thing that I didn't have a traditional childhood by Earth standards."

Not entirely. A lot had been really bad.

[sith_happened]

"They really have a pretty easy life," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"The idea of it being dumb to enjoy things makes me a little sad," she said. "Or enjoying dumb things."

[sith_happened]

"Rory assures me that it's a phase," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Good. Or I'd have to start thinking I'm being silly," she joked.

[sith_happened]

"Never," Anakin said with a smile. "It just means that you've stopped caring what people think."

[thatwaslucky]

"I wasn't great at that to start," she admitted. "Aside from generally not liking attention."

[sith_happened]

"I was the opposite," Anakin admitted. "They were looking at me already, I might as well make it worth it."

[thatwaslucky]

"We had very different environments there," she said.

[sith_happened]

Anakin chuckled. "I suppose we did."
