Trooper Station, Friday

It was a quiet sort of day. So quiet, in fact, that the Troopers were actually volunteering to go out on patrol. Not that they'd be all that likely to encounter any crime, in fact Watts suspected it was mostly so they had an excuse to stop in at the Perk for iced coffees.

It was far too hot and humid outside. Granted, the Trooper Station was safely inside. But even so, Steven did not like the idea of his beau perhaps wilting in the heat regardless of climate control.

So Steven stopped by the Perk around mid afternoon for some frozen drinks and then went to the Trooper Station, beelining for Llewellyn's office. "Hello, you."

Watts wasn't quite wilting thanks to the air conditioning, but even AC could only accomplish so much.

Also the air conditioning was incapable of gallant gestures like bringing by a nice cold drink.

"Hello, you. What brings you by?" Yes, he could see the drink tray in hand.

Steven closed the office door behind him for privacy. "It was beastly hot out. Thought I'd bring you a cool drink and then perhaps stay for a bit? If I won't be in the way?"

"You're never in the way," Watts declared. "Today's been exceedingly tedious, the company is wholly welcome, even if you hadn't also brought a cool drink."

"Excellent," Steven said. "I must admit I didn't care for not being able to stay and enjoy a cool drink with you last time."

It'd been for good reason, wanting to say thank you to Harley for her gift and all. But still.

Steven made a show of presenting the two drinks. "Frozen fruit again. They're both lemonade but this one's with pineapple and this one is raspberries."

"Do you have a preference?" Watts asked.

[hasaknightjob]

"No," Steven said. "I picked two I could be equally happy with so that whatever you liked would be fine with me."

"Clever," Watts acknowledged. "I'll take the one with raspberry, then, but with the caveat that I'd also like a sip or two of yours."

He would of course offer likewise in return, as was only fair.

"That sounds fair," Steven said. He handed over the cup with the pink colored drink inside, keeping the yellow for himself. He then took his usual seat. "How's it been? The heat is miserable. Or feels miserable to be out in it, I suppose. Can't claim to know how the weather itself feels about things."

"The Troopers were bored enough to volunteer for patrol; I'm fairly certain their armour has cooling capabilities, or they wouldn't be so eager to go outside." Sure, they were mostly just going to the Perk, but even a short walk outside in that armour would be uncomfortable if it didn't have some sort of cooling mechanism.

"Never thought about that," Steven admitted. "Hopefully heat in the winter as well?"

[pocketpretzels]

"It must, I've never heard them say a word about the cold."

Complain, yes, but those were much more generalized complaints.

Steven frowned. "You know, I'm realizing I have no idea why they wear those... uniforms? It's not you who told them, is it?"

[pocketpretzels]

"No, no," Watts told him, taking a sip of his drink and making a slight face at the sharp pain in his head that resulted from drinking too quickly. "They were wearing those when I arrived. From what I understand it's what they wore on duty in the reality they're from, so they just carried on here."

That was all well and good, but when Llewellyn had an expression of pain Steven wasn't paying as much attention to the details about the Troopers. "Are you all right?"

"Ah," Watts rubbed at his forehead. "You know that sharp pain that accompanies drinking something cold far too fast? It's just that."

"I see," Steven said. He gestured at Llewellyn. "May I?"

[pocketpretzels]

"I- yes?"

[hasaknightjob]

Steven leaned over to give Llewellyn a soft, warm kiss, making it deep enough to hopefully chase the cold in his head away.

It was entirely possible Watts had anticipated something along these lines. But just because he had, didn't make it any less enjoyable, so yes, he was absolutely melting in to the kiss.

If nothing else they'd not yet had a chance to do their full and proper greeting. Which made this two goals in one, really. Not that Steven needed an excuse to kiss his beau whenever the opportunity arose.

"You do know how to make a man forget his troubles," Watts murmured.

[hasaknightjob]

"Hopefully that man is you," Steven said. "I'm not kissing anyone else."

[pocketpretzels]

"It is, it is, and I'm glad- I'm afraid I would be rather cross to find you kissing someone else," Watts told him.

"I'd be surprised," Steven said. "I certainly wouldn't have initiated it."
