Ignis' mind was a little less on food today, and a little more on travel. Obviously, there were still a few arrangements to be made with portalicity for his class, though he'd had that list prepared quite some time ago, and it was mostly just confirmation and making sure there were no last minute adjustments needing to be made. But there was also a bit of a plan to do a little more traveling to Innistrad. Although he was using the guise of being concerned for Liliana's assets and holding and wanting to work up a professional reparte with her accountant here (and it wasn't really that much of a guise, since he did very much want to do that as well), it was also so that he could engage in a little bit of...research. Without catching too much of Liliana's curiosity.

It was, after all, not a topic he planned to take lightly. He wanted to be well-informed before he even began to make even the slightest hint of a decision in that regard. He wanted to be sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it was a viable option.

Or even a wise one.

Either way, with his mind so full of these thoughts since this weekend, it was rather nice to get in the kitchen again and get some good work out, but it wasn't quite the inspired event it usually was for him.

It certainly wasn't a day that tempted Liliana to order off the specials board like some kind of peasant, that was for sure. She glanced over them, dismissed them immediately, and continued on her way to the counter.

"Hello, love," she said, leaning against the counter. "I'm here to stop the hours from dragging by, as I assume they do whenever I am not around."

Honestly, though, that salad deserved a more enticing name than the one it was given; it really did have some lovely potential that he thought maybe she'd enjoy, but, well, yes, if there was a day to finally entice her into ordering one of the specials, this was certainly not it.

There was a soft smile at her greeting, leaning on the counter a little himself now as he offered out a hand for hers. "Like an automobile stuck in the mud," he assured her, and treating that hand to a kiss against her knuckles, "all spinning wheels and going nowhere. And yet, cruelly, my lunch break conversely seems to pass by all too quickly. There is truly no justice in the passage of time."

"I have never found there to be," she said with a smile, the warmth and pleasure his words inspired in her made manifest in her voice. Rather than reclaiming her hand, she laced her fingers through his, palm to palm. "That's why I removed myself from its clutches entirely. I may still need to dance to its beat when I choose to bestir myself for others, but for myself, I refuse to acknowledge its mastery."

"Sounds to me," said Ingis, with a squeeze of Liliana's hand and slightly more of a smile on the corner of his mouth than usual, "like just an incredibly elaborate excuse to get out of having to wake up early in the morning..."

"Time isn't the boss of me!" Liliana insisted, before laughing and using her grip on his hand to tug him in for a better kiss than just one across her knuckles. "I am no more bound by the tyranny of mornings than I am by the tyranny of clothes."
