Luke's Diner; Tuesday [08/13].
Ignis had suspected he would be in a coffee-and-contemplation type of mood that morning at the diner, and he was, unsurprisingly, quite correct in that fact. He'd whipped out his ideas for recipehs for the specials board quickly enough, too, which left, besides the occasional morning diner, a good deal of time to just sort of...lean back against the counter with his mug and think.
Were the thoughts leading him anywhere new? Not particularly, since he was mostly already at conclusions about most of them already. But it never hurt to give it a slightly different angle here and there and just to discover anything he might have missed. A thorough examination, really, especially before...well...moving forward on a good deal of it. Considering the timing. Mostly just waiting it out.
He sipped his coffee and thought that he did sometimes miss not having more actual battles and fights to have to throw some of that mental consideration sometimes. Fighting Greg about the use of an air fryer didn't count.

"Hello, love," she said with a smile, placing a Perk coffee onto the counter next to him. "Planning your next move in your campaign to win the affections of that little shopkeep?"
Her way of noting that he looked contemplative without, you know, saying it. Speaking plainly about someone's emotions? Couldn't be her.

"My next, my darling?" Ignis answered, with a wry smile of his own, having finished up his coffee as soon as the door opened to with that gust of familiar perfume now seasoning the air, timed almost perfectly so that by the time she reached the counter, the empty mug was set aside and his hand free to then take up hers. And, perhaps in a moment, his other hand would take up that cup he heard softly settling on the counter as well, but for now? Just her.
"Goodness, no. What sort of slouch do you take me for? My next move is already planned. As well as the one after that. Now it is the next after that that I'm working on plotting at the moment, as well as any contingencies for any mishaps with the first two. Although I daresay, I am quite confident in their imminent success."
And the beauty of it all was that, at least in that moment, those claims felt...encouragingly true.
He brought that cool hand to his lips for a kiss.
"And you? Any exciting plots or machinations of note in your day thus far, 'Iana, my love?"

"You are a fearsome tactician, love," she said with a grin. "I feel it likely that your endeavors will be met with success."
Hints that she knew what was percolating in his brain? Or simply acknowledging that he had already won over 'the little shopkeep'? Who could say? Liliana certainly wasn't.
"And I should only wish I had plots or machinations to work on," she said. "I've been trying to decide whether or not I wish to teach in the fall and, if so, what might be the focus of my class."
Also true! Her current machination was currently waiting on Olivia, leaving her nothing to do but wait in the meantime.
