Thor had held the line about Tiny's ideas for pumpkin spiced specials on the basis that, "Have you been outside lately, man?" and also on the basis that, "I do not care what Starbucks does. This is not a Starbucks. We do not even serve coffee." Unless someone ordered an espresso martini, or they seemed really desperate. Thor's other half was a surgeon. He wasn't cruel enough to withhold caffeine from anyone in true withdrawal.

Instead, the specials board for Thor's first Thursday shift was celebrating the (hopefully) last breath of summer.

"I do not have one ready to hand, but I am sure something could be arranged," Thor said.

Someone needed to inform Thor of Shirtless Thursdays! He was a great respecter of traditions.

Eric smiled. "Maybe for next week," he said. "Welcome to Shirtless Thursdays!"

Thor looked down at his armor and said, "My apologies for my failure to comply with the dress code. I was unaware." And then immediately started unfastening his cape because obviously this oversight must be corrected.

This was Eric's very favorite day! "Annie merely presided over the custom," Eric admitted, "rather than partaking herself."

"This culture is not very equal-opportunity with its nudity," Thor observed as he continued to unfasten his breastplate. He sounded very neutral and also like he considered it a failing, because, well, the man liked to look at boobs. Sue him.

"It isn't," Eric agreed. "It's such a pity because everyone on this island is very pretty."

I wouldn't go that far...

"Indeed," Thor agreed with the vampire and not the doctor. "The universality of the rule leads one to wonder if the felt people are considered very attractive by the standards of their kind." Miss Piggy found pitching an absolute fit.

"The eagle didn't think I was very handsome," Eric said with a frown, "so perhaps his eyes were broken."

"That, or support for my hypothesis that they have very different beauty standards," Thor mused. "By the standards of every humanoid race I have made the acquaintance of, he was objectively incorrect." Congrats on your everything, Eric.
