Pixie Dust; Thursday [10/03].
"Guests?" Boc frowned as he looked up from the nice bit of knitting he was trying to not get too tangled as he worked his way through it, perched as he usually was on the counter, and listened to today's cashier explaining to him about the Parents Weekend up at school. Then he shook his head. "No, no. I should think not! Only parent I've ever known was me dear old mum, and she's left us now, so I suppose it would be quite the surprise if she did show up, though it would be..."
Oh, no, now he'd thought about it, and a little bit of a whimper escaped him as tears started to cling to his eyes, but he shook his head vehemently and dedicatedly returned to his knitting.
"Doesn't matter anyway!" he declared staunchly. "Only thing I've had to do with that school anyway is that one class you all signed me up for, which, might I remind you, had nothing to do with weaving at all! Let's not have anything more to talk about with guests, if you don't mind! Anyone likely to come and visit me, of all people, is likely no one you'd want visiting, anyway!"
Then Boc's attention shifted, slightly, as the music playing in the store seemed to strike a particularly dramatic note and he wondered if that should be something he should be worried about....

"Oh, thank God," she said once she'd caught her breath. "The clothes are still here."

And then he frowned slightly in confusion. "Well, of course they all are, miss," he said, though the confusion in his voice made it less confident than the words themselves might have indicated. "Why wouldn't they be?"

"But who are Kitty and Georgian--oh!" Boc seemed to suddenly remember the conversation he'd been having earlier. "Guests for the upcoming weekend? And you were hoping you might treat them to some of the cosmetic supplies? And now they've gone and cleared it all away? Oh, miss! Oh, that's terrible! Truly!"
Granted, despite how passionately he made the claim, that had more to do with Boc's tendency to think most things were terrible. Contextually, he wasn't sure he understood, but he could tell how distraught poor Lydia was, and if Lydia was distraught, then Boc would certain be distraught along with her!

"Do....do you think..." he eventually managed to venture, chancing a glance back to Lydia for signs of her thinking he was talking out of place by suggesting it, "...that perhaps....your guests might care for something else? That isn't cosmetics? After all, I know they're not nearly so nice, what with them coming from the sort of shop that'll have me about, but we still have some somewhat lovely gifts here. Perhaps that will do? Although now you do have me worried about them all still being here for the weekend, but if you say it's a management issue...."
