Rey's warehouse- Friday

For as much as Rey loved being home, she also loved when her friends got to come here and see what she was doing. Finn had been to the warehouse before, Poe had not, and Rey had grown very acclimated to how insane this place had gotten. Like how she had to warn them to mind the quicksand on the way in, while lifting BB-8 over it.

And then there were further questions, like "Why?" and "Is date lava? Rey, why is there lava?"

Anakin could feel the presence of others in the warehouse, so he made sure his flip over the quicksand was particularly showy.

"Rey?" he called.

"-know how small the odds are that you need to deal with lava?"

Oh hey, showy guy.

"But they're never zero," Anakin said with a smirk.

"Apparently I didn't prepare them enough," Rey stated. It's not like anyone's fallen into the lava."

Rey. You've been Stockholmed.

"It's a very normal thing to have," Anakin agreed, even though no, no it wasn't.

"Do I have to do this thing?" Finn asked, hitching a thumb towards the course.

"You get to try," Rey said.

"We'll make sure you don't fall in the lava and die," Anakin said helpfully.

"That's not as reassuring as you think it is," Finn said.

"People tell me that a lot," Anakin said.

It did not make him change his approach in any way.

"We don't have to do the course right now," Rey said. "We sort of skipped the hellos."

"Hello," Anakin said belatedly.

"Hey. Nice death trap you've got here," Poe greeted him.

"We got rid of the giant boulder that could've squashed people," Anakin said.

[bb8_dad]

"Be kidding," he said.

"I questioned that one pretty hard," Rey said. But the lava stayed. Who knows.

"In my defense--" there was no defense, Anakin, "--the island was taking our ideas and making them...bigger. Like the boulder. No one needs a boulder that large."

"No one needs a boulder," Rey said, shaking her head, but again, lava.

"Especially not that big," Anakin agreed. "We threw it out the top of the building and into the water," he added for the newcomers.

"This is not how Leia did things," Finn noted. He felt that was important?

"Did Leia deal with a lot of semi-sentient boulders?" Anakin asked.

"Weirdly, no," Finn said, totally guessing. Rey had done her thing, he'd been doing something else back then.

"There is kind of a rock motif," Rey said.

Anakin nodded. "It's a Jedi tradition."

[bb8_dad]

"We did see that one," Poe pointed out. "Except it was about half a mountain, and none of them were semi-sentient?"

This place.

"Chasing us around the place," Anakin said, nodding. "You get used to it."

[bb8_dad]

Poe looked towards Rey. "Every year I ask you: why?"

[sith_happened]

"Being here grows on you?" Anakin said.

Rey looked over at him, thinking about it. "Or you at least get used to it."

Anakin laughed. "I've been here for almost two decades. I'm probably not the right person to ask."
