The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening
Coming into work tonight, Octavia was feeling a little exhausted for a number of reasons, but there was definitely a major one among them: the nightmares had finally started. She'd known they were coming, because they always did, after major stressful episodes (and during the stress that remained after). She'd just hoped she'd at least be able to make it a full week before that, but no.
It was the farm. Of course it was the farm.
She made herself a big drink out of Coke and one of the fake, non-alcoholic liquor things at the beginning of her shift. The caffeine wouldn't save her, not from the existing tired in her system nor the following night's sleep, but maybe it could make her feel better in the moment?
Worth a shot.
