J,GoB; Sunday Morning [10/27].
So a funny thing had happened last week. One would think that Boc, as inclined toward hermitage and generally avoiding people as he was wont, would have found the quiet of the island in the mass exodus for the school trip to be a blissful relief, bit he'd found her felt....rather the opposite. It was too quiet, he felt, even for him. Because even if he wasn't one to interact or be social with people, he'd grown to find comfort in the thought that he could if he did want to. He missed....well, if not maybe people exactly, but he missed the idea of them, the possibility of them. So many people gone made him feel bit nervous, so, knowing that everyone was back again, he felt that particular nervousness melt away, as if some balance had been restored.
And, in the effort to keep that balance and that unexpected comfort, he hobbled his way to the bakery, to get his cinnamon roll (yes, fine, okay, he'll take thr pumpkin spice one!), and claim his usual spit tucked away in the corner to enjoy it.
[[ i have no idea what kind of day i'm walking into at work so I might be slow, I might not be, but the post is certainly open for all your baked good needs! ]]

It didn't have to! It was practically automatic if both states were in the interstate licensure compact, which Maryland was! New York? Not so much. There was also expedited processing if your case was clear-cut enough, which Don was willing to bet his was not, what with the having been erased from reality for ten years and all.
Don was just going to go ahead and add this to the 'Tony Stark's fault' tab (No, not that Tony Stark. The other one) and treat himself to a slice of pie and a coffee. He deserved them.
As he juggled plate, cup, and walking stick like an old pro on his way to his table, he glanced over at Boc and said, "Good morning."

Dr. Don Blake, Thor murmured in the back of his mind, and Don muttered under his breath, "Not in Maryland."

"Hello," he said again, with another bobbing nod of his head. "Name's Boc. Boc the Seamster. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
So far he was, anyway. One could never quite tell with these things.

That statement seemed punctuated ironically with just how quiet the bakery actually was at that moment, which might also be the crux of why Boc was having such an easy time of it today.
He ventured a cautiously curious glance toward Donblake's table.
"And is that some pie you've gotten today?"

He popped that piece into his mouth and chewed a little, swallowing before adding, "Congratulations. On your good news. And I'm sorry to hear about your not so great news, as well."

"What is it that they Avenge?" he wondered. "These Avengers? And, oh, I'm from a place called the Lands Between. It's quite terrible, really, although I do sometimes miss it. Mostly the Erdtree. And the moons. We've got two of them, and one is quite large, much larger than the one here, and the Erdtree....oh, it's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen, all golden and looming over everything. When the wind blows and its leaves glisten golden as they flutter and fall..."
Here, Boc let out a wistful sigh, once again wondering if being in the Erdtree's light would make everything else about that horrible place worth it.
"It's much better here, though, overall. People are much nicer. And the food."
Another piece of cinnamon roll went into his mouth as if to prove it.
