Rey had gotten back early this morning, and coffee was needed. The gremlins were exclusively serving some cold brew concoction with matcha and peppermint. Rey, basically being a raccoon that was, saw nothing wrong with this.

There was something wrong with this.

Now she was trying to work, tired, in need of coffee, without wanting to insult anyone but also without wanting to drink that. Why did they give her a venti?

Would Rey need a Poutine knit cap? Probably not, but here came Anakin anyway with one in his hand.

"Rey?"

Rey looked up from what she was doing, greeting him with a smile. "You're back!"

Did you want coffee? It was only sort of sludge.

"I'm back!" Anakin confirmed. "And so are you."

[thatwaslucky]

"This morning," she said. "How was the trip?"

[sith_happened]

"Relaxing," Anakin said. "Quebec is beautiful."

[thatwaslucky]

"You took pictures?" Sincere he'd promised, and if she couldn't go she still wanted to see it.

[sith_happened]

"Of course I did," Anakin said, handing over his commlink.

Rey took it to start looking through. "Did you do anything fun?"

She'd get to those pictures at some point if he did!

[sith_happened]

"I rode on a double decker bus, which was very quaint," Anakin said, "and I saw art and whales and battlefields. Oh, and I made cheese."

"That is a lot of different things," Rey said, nodding towards the comlink. "Are there whales on here?"

"There are," Anakin said, nodding back. "About halfway through."

Did Rey skip ahead to those? Yes. She'd go back. "Look at that!"

She'd never seen whales, even if it was a tail it was very exciting.

"They were very big and splashed us," Anakin said with a grin.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm very jealous," Rey said, smiling. "This is incredible."

[sith_happened]

"I highly recommend taking the trip someday," Anakin said, holding out the hat. "But until then, here."

"Thank you," she said, handing the phone back in a trade. "Is poutine a team?"

The Quebec Poutines.

"It's a food," Anakin said. "French fries covered with gravy and cheese. Sometimes they add other things on top of that, like bacon or smoked meat."

Or corndogs. Or macaroni and cheese. Or butter chicken. They needed to be stopped.

"I immediately want to try that," she decided.

"It's really good," Anakin said. "You'll like it."

[thatwaslucky]

"And until then, I have a hat," she smiled. "Thank you."

Don't think it won't come out when it hits 53 degrees.

"You're very welcome," Anakin said. "I also bought maple syrup. I think it's required."

[thatwaslucky]

"That I know I like," she said.

[sith_happened]

"I think you could probably put it on poutine if you're brave," Anakin said. "Or Raiden."

[thatwaslucky]

"Raiden would absolutely do it right," she said. "I should tell him, if he hasn't already tried it."

[sith_happened]

"You should," Anakin agreed. "I'd try it too."

[thatwaslucky]

"Next time I see him," she promised.

[sith_happened]

Anakin beamed. "Good. How was the trip home? Did you get into fights with Hutts?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Actually, no," she said. "I meditated on it and ended up just going where that took me."

[sith_happened]

"Where did you end up?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"The First Order destroyed several planets. I ended up at a settlement near Kijimi, helping out and contacting some people to try and get more help," she said.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "That sounds like very important work."

[thatwaslucky]

"Apparently it was good for them to see a Jedi doing that," she said. "Things I didn't think about."

[sith_happened]

"The public relations aspect of our jobs?" Anakin asked, smiling. "There's a reason nothing else sounds like a lightsaber. It's a universal symbol of someone screwing up badly."

"Which I'd like to avoid," she said. "We're still recovering from the last time that happened."

[sith_happened]

"True," Anakin said with a wry smile.
