Luke's Diner; Tuesday [10/29].
Supririsngly absolutely no one who knew him, Ignis was taking a bit of inspiration from the school trip and bringing it to the specials board at Luke's that week. Which had Greg asking if that pretty much just meant a lot of maple syrup and poutine, and Ignis, scoffing, refused to dignify that with a response until he'd had a sip of his coffee.
And once he had that sip, he pointed out that there was so much more to Canadian cuisine than maple syrup and poutine.
"Yeah, but there's going to be maple syrup and poutine, though, right?"
"Well," Ignis huffed slightly, "yes. I must admit that I am planning on having those today, but that's hardly the point. It isn't all maple syrup and poutine."
"Right," Greg nodded, "so All-Dressed chips, too, right?"
"...please do not speak to me again until this mug is empty, for your safety as well as everyone else's."

Perhaps, however, having Liliana stroll through the door would ease Ignis' patience considerably? Which was quite the amusing (and surprising) thought, considering she was much more used to testing people's patience rather than soothing it.
"Hello, my darling," she called as she glided over to where he was perched behind the counter. It was later than her normal wont, but she'd spent the morning playing conductor to the chaos that was pre-party preparation. But while that might have delayed her lunch, there were very few things that would prevent it completely and that certainly wasn't it. "Miss me?"

And it was with that pleased smile on his face that he set down his mug to go and meet her, sliding an arm around her and greeting her with a kiss that answered that question with masterful depths well before his words could.
Well, his word, anyway, because it was but a single one, low and rumbling in his throat as his lips finally departed hers: "Always."
And then, a lift of his brow.
"Hungry?"
no subject
It was the little things, no?
"The decor is coming along quite nicely, love, and they appreciate the meticulous instructions provided." As they had learned during the post-vampire repair of her Innistrad manor and again during the renovation of this mansion, they (unsurprisingly) made an excellent team, with Liliana's big picture creative flair and Ignis' attention to details. "And the chandelier--" a saucy grin and another short laugh "--is to be delivered this afternoon and hung before they left so I can get a sense of the area and the lighting and we can rework any details if necessary."

"Fantastic," he said. "Should I slip out a bit early today, then? To better assist in case there are any issues?"
no subject
"My darling, you can't ask me that," she said with another laugh, still leaning into him with seemingly no inclination to move. "Do you think there's any chance of me saying no? Obviously you must come home early for...the whatever reason you just gave, which is the only thing factoring into my answer, of course."
no subject
"There might have been a slim chance," Ignis noted, and since Liliana seemed to have no inclination to move from where she currently was, he was just going to hold her a little closer, "that you might have said no, and, if you did," he'd gone and rested his head a little against hers, but no doubt she could hear the lift in his grin the same way he could so often hear hers, "then I'd know to be....concerned."
no subject
"I have not yet been replaced by a changeling," Liliana said, expression fond and warm and smug as she did, indeed, hear that grin, the one that seemed to have taken up semipermanent residence on his face. "As if any such thing would have my panache.
"The real question is, how many hours counts as a bit early?" she teased.
no subject
No question for an exact timeframe had any business sounding like that.
no subject
"I'm afraid I was only given a basic timeframe to add to today's checklist of tasks," she purred. "The window opens in a few hours, though I've alreadypadded the schedule to ensure an early delivery doesn't affect the schedule too terribly."
Which...wasn't too terribly far from the truth, actually. But then, when one was throwing an extravagant party, it did
sadlyrequire extra organization, especially when one was delegating. And, of course Liliana was delegating. Did somebody expect her to hang decor around the walls?Absurd.

Speaking of tight and firm, those could be the exact words used to describe Ignis' hold on Liliana as he kissed her again.
Among other things.
"A few hours, then," he concluded, "it shall be. Let's make it a neat two-and-a-half, to compensate for it that window does, in fact, end up opening a bit early."
And to best use their time effectively if it actually did not.
no subject
"Acceptable," she breathed. It wasn't the preferred response of 'why, immediately, Liliana, of course I will drop everything and leap to your side,' but she hadn't expected it to be, either. Not with his drafted sense of responsibility. Two-and-a-half hours was more than fair. And Liliana had always been willing to accept unfair results, so long as they were tilted in her favor. "I'm certain you can find plenty of...industrious occupation...until its arrival regardless."

"You truly are," his own voice seemed to have adopted its own sort of rumbling purr as well, "an overflowing font of inspiration and phenomenal ideas, my love. Give me but a moment? To whip something up to help satiate some of our appetite?"
Some. Not all.
Never all.
no subject
"Only if you kiss me once more before you go," she told him...and then immediately proved that a lie as she began to hum a tune and started to dance with him. At least she was angling him towards the end of the counter?
no subject
"Only once more?" he asked. A verification. A challenge. A negotiation.
