Homecoming 2024, Community Center, Saturday Evening

You know, Zoe could get used to the island doing the decorating for her for these events. When she arrived at the community center, everything was already set up. On the edges of the room were comfy chairs, throw pillows, and weighted blankets. The food table was filled with warm drinks and sweet treats and the punch bowl was already boozed up with mulled wine.

The music and the dance floor were still rocking though, because dancing was therapeutic!

She shot a little look in Cal's direction and grinned at Arden.

Arden flushed a bit, unable to stop a giant grin from overtaking her face, and nodded, on the off chance there was any question.

"Doesn't he look great?" You know, in the suit he'd gotten to match her gown and she was not having extra thoughts about that at all, really.

"He does," Belle said. "I hope to see you dancing together?"

Unless Cal had no rhythm. Which was possible. Belle did not know.

"I think you'll look marvelous."

Cal had rhythm! And Arden had been teaching him how to use it.

"Oh definitely," she said. "We'll be hopping from the dancefloor to the refreshment table and back. You'll be on the floor, too, right?"

"Then it must be true," Belle declared even though 'they said so' was a terrible reason for anything.
