He and Tiny stared at the fireplace at the center of the club for a bit.

"And probably not in line with the building code."

Another short silence.

"It is soothing, though," Lucifer concluded, grudgingly. "Tiny? Get me a hot cocoa with rum, please."

Eric made a face at the fireplace. "So far, I am not loving the island's offerings. I prefer to not catch fire."

"Well, you could try being less flammable," Lucifer told him. "Seems like a design oversight with your kind, honestly."

"I'll be sure to write a note to...who should I address that too?" Eric asked.

"Whoever made you?" Lucifer suggested. "Or failing that, my Father."

"I don't think either of them would be terribly sympathetic," Eric said dryly.

"Does it matter?" Lucifer said.

"Probably not," Eric said. "I don't expect a letter would make me less flammable."

"Well, not with that attitude," Lucifer pointed out.

"I don't think it's my attitude that's holding me back," Eric said, snorting.
