There was a tray of samples on the counter when Boc came into the bakery that morning, which he considered with wide sort of eyes because he couldn't quite see what was on it from his low-to-the-ground height. Which meant that if he wanted to know what it was, he'd have to ask, and he needed to weigh whether or not it would be worth the trouble to do so or if he should just slink off to his corner with his cinnamon roll as usual.

But curiosity did get the best of him, and so he ventured an inquiry toward the sample tray, and the clerk informed him that it was samples of the building.

Which managed to make Boc's eyes grow even wider. "Because all the buildings have turned into some sort of gingerbread?" he asked. "And you're sampling it? Aren't you worried that might compromise the integrity of the building as a whole?"

But the clerk just sort of shrugged and explained that some people might try to eat it, anyway, so this way, they were just sort of getting ahead of that.

Boc shook his head, clearly not understanding, and while he considered taking a sample (mostly just to see how the flavor of J,GoB compared to that of Pixie Dust), he declined and just went on over his table to eat something that wasn't part of a structure.
