Ignis had gotten rather used to coming into work on Tuesdays and occasionally finding a random abundance of a specific ingredient for no particular reason, but he was pretty sure this was the first time he'd come in to find that situation had been extended to include equipment.

"What do you mean," he murmured, as his roaming hands confirmed what he was being told, "we just have a ton of waffle irons?"

For the briefest moment, especially with the dire way in which Greg had broken the news to him, Ignis worried that all the equipment had become waffle irons, but, no, thankfully, they were still perfectly well equipped with everything else, there was just an excess of waffle irons that did a rather good job of cluttering up his space, which was almost as annoying.

Still, though, he sighed, willed the coffee to brew a little bit faster, and said, "Yes, yes, of course we'll at least put them to good use."

Gray had been summoned. Christmas and waffles? Surely the best of all possible worlds.

"...I think I'm gonna pass on the tofu waffle." There were limits.

"Well, that is...certainly an option," said Ignis, who always thought it was....interesting, when people felt more inclined to comment on what they wouldn't be having more than what they would. "Is that to say, then, that you're interested in getting the other two items on the specials' board?"

Tofu certainly was an option! But not for Gray. "I'll have the brownie waffles," he said. "And can I get extra whipped cream on that?" Because...of course.

"Truly a breakfast of champions," Ignis drawled, with just enough dryness and just enough of an amused lift in the corner of his mouth to make it hard to tell just how sarcastic he might have been with that comment, but the nod that followed was perfectly professional. "Coming right up. And to drink?"

It really was! Gray was a champion of, for example, napping. "Can I get hot chocolate?"

Had he considered any food groups other than sugar? All signs pointed to no.
