Once more, Thor was behind the bar at the Devil's Nest, ready to serve drinks and hear the tales of his patrons' holiday festivities.

Tiny was attempting to make a menorah out of potatoes. Thor wished him luck with that.

Thor remained disappointed that Boxing Day continued to involve no actual boxing. More holidays could do with a bit of fisticuffs, in his opinion.

Who said it couldn't involve more boxing? Be the change you wanted to see in the world, Thor!

But it was mostly out of leaning into things that didn't change (well, not much, anyway) that had Gladio coming in for a good old Shirtless Thursday drink.

So there was an encouraging word or two in passing for Tiny on the way to his usual spot at the bar and a nod to Thor. "How's it going tonight, Thor? Do much for the holidays?"

"Gladio, my friend," Thor greeted him, "I must confess that I did not. But then, my holiday was several days ago now, and Stark's party for it yet further back." And holidays were less fun when you were celebrating them alone, at least for Thor.

"And that was a great party, too," Gladio said, grinning with fond remembrance for that board, which also made him think of Nell's prime rib yesterday, and, man, he loved the holidays. And he hadn't even gotten the leftovers he knew Iggy had from his meal with Liliana yet! "So there's nothing wrong with that."

His chin then quirked toward the specials' board.

"What's that drink all about? Does it really pack a punch?"

"Indeed, Stark has always hosted a fine party," Thor agreed. "Both the one I knew and the one here. And not so very much of one, although it does start with bourbon," he said of the drink. "'Boxing Day' has to do with boxes, it seems, and not boxing. A most confusingly named occasion."

"That is a little disappointing," said Gladio, who didn't really come to the bar for that; he was a social drinker through and through, but it was kind of fun sometimes when a drink managed to put a little hair even on his chest, "but they do seem to have holidays for pretty much everything around here. Why not boxes, too?"

"It is rather tasty, though," Thor felt obligated to point out. It wasn't Asgardian mead, but few things were. "I am not sure why they need an entire holiday dedicated to boxes, but I suppose their Christmas does generate a great deal of them." Explain yourselves, England.

"Well," Gladio nodded, "let's have one, then. For all the boxes."

There was a slight pause before his head tilted slightly. "You think they got a day for the wrapping paper, too, then? Or what about all the bows and ribbons?"

Thor had to consider that as he assembled ingredients. "I have never heard it said," he admitted, "but perhaps Wrapping Paper Day is less significant. It must take up less room than the boxes, after all."

"And all that other stuff goes on thd boxes, too," Gladio reasoned, "and then probably right back in 'em when they're not being used, so I guess it would sort of make sense that it gets it's day."

Then there was a faint snort. "Unless boxes just have the better marketing team,I guess."

"I suppose we could look it up," Thor said as he poured ingredients into the shaker, and made no move to look anything up, "but perhaps it is more amusing to come up with explanations for ourselves, hm?"

Gladio shrugged a little, but he grinned. "Doesn't really seem important enough to go through all that," he admitted. "I was mostly planning on just asking Summer about it on Monday."

Who would probably just look it up, to be honest.

"She's always dealing with weird holidays like that at her store."
