Earlier that week, someone had come in for new socks, and, through their conversation, Boc had convinced that person not to throw away all their old socks they were replacing, but to bring them in so that Boc could mend them.

At no charge, either! Which was terrible for thr business, but wonderful for Boc, who was now camped out in front of the counter, with a garbage bag bigger than he was, stuffed with torn and holey socks, mending away to his little heart's content.

Ah, if only every day could be a Mending Decades Worth of Socks Day!
