Trooper Station, Friday

The telephone was ringing nonstop with lizard related complaints, to the point where it was starting to give Watts a headache. The temptation to just unplug the damned thing was strong, but he did have a responsibility towards the safety of the townspeople, so plugged in it remained, and he continued to answer calls and send Troopers out to assist where necessary.

Some things were arranged before it was known that there'd be troubles on the island. Of course one could argue it would be safe to assume as a given that there'd be troubles on the island.

Regardless, it was a slightly haggard delivery man who showed up to drop off a bouquet for Watts.

The note on it read Happy one week until our anniversary, love. Yours, now and always - Steven

Steven smiled at the pictures. He texted back:

🍞 you too. Let us know if you need help getting home.

Very much not a question. Neither Steven nor Marc would brook any argument if Llewellyn's safety was on the line.

Steve jogged into the office to grab a tactical vest and concussive munitions. "Think flashbangs work on waist-high lizards?" he asked, sorting through the options.

Steve was taking them anyway. "What would it depend on?"

"...you've never looked at the ammunition we stock?" Steve asked, blinking.
