Tiny was celebrating the first weekend of summer by wearing eye-searing board shorts--no shirt--and sunglasses inside.

"Well, I can hardly tell you to put something on," said an equally shirtless Eric, "but no flipflops behind the bar. It's a safety violation."

Probably. He hadn't checked, but he really didn't want to see Tiny's toes.

"Welcoming summer?"

"Exactly," Eric said. "Do you want a mai tai?"

"Sure. I should go along with the theme, after all."

Jaina smiled. "How are you doing this week? Other than the obvious?"

The shirtlessness. Which wasn't uncommon, let's be real.

Every day was shirtless day when you had abs like Eric. At least, if you asked Eric.

"I'm still annoyed the dinosaurs were gone by the time I woke up," he admitted. "Was it fun?"

"Completely boring, very routine," she lied, helpfully.

"That sounds very comforting," Eric said. "Complete bullshit, but comforting."

"It was all over in about ten minutes," she added.

"Because you kicked all of the dinosaurs' asses alone?" Eric asked.

"I left a couple for others," she said loftily. "I'm good, I'm not that good. I'd need at least a couple hours."

"How many dinosaurs were there?" Eric said.

"I didn't count," she said. "And technically they were mini Godzillas."

"That's so much better," Eric complained.

"Mini," she emphasized.

"Still," Eric said, frowning. "It's been so boring."

"We really do need some more drama at nighttime," Jaina agreed. "Aside from fire drills."

It'd been years. She still remembered the fire drills.

Jaina frowned at him. "Why?"
