"Come try our endless treadmill?" asked Gladio, reading skeptically from thr banner that had been hung up in thr lobby before arching an eyebrow at Sonja.

She promptoly led him over to the treadmill in question, which was running at a slightly-faster-than-brisket pace, no matter what button she pushed or knob she turned.

"Hold on," said Gladio, feeling pretty smart for having a solution, "i got this."

But when he went to the wall to unplug it, he found it was already unplugged, and Sonja was looking smugly amused.

"Huh."

And so he was adding a new sign: "One Month Membership Free if You Can Stay On the Ednless Treadmill for 30 minutes or more."

Nell looked at the sign and the treadmill, then back to Gladio. "I could do that," she said with a smile.

"It's going a lot faster than it looks," Gladio warned her, with a grin right back, "and I hear there's this big, handsome guy hanging around today that might try and distract you. But if you're so confident and everything..."

Nell looked again and wrinkled her nose at him. "It's not going faster than I can run and I can run for thirty minutes."

And grinned up at him. "But I can be easily distracted by certain big handsome guys."

"Oh, yeah?" asked Gladio, brows lifting with interest. "Which ones? So I can go beat them up."

"Oh, I wouldn't like that at all," Nell said firmly, but with a twinkle in her eye. "There's really just the one and I am quite fond of him."

"Just the one, huh? And what's so great about this one guy, anyway?" Gladio asked, because he really just couldn't help himself.

"Well, he is obviously handsome and big," Nell said, "But that's just a nice extra - and one that actually was a bit of a negative when I first met him. Large men, you know...

"But he is such an incredible person. He lets me be me. He lets me make my own decisions and backs me up whatever I choose." Her smile was soft and gentle. "He makes me laugh and he makes me think. He's so smart. I love to talk with him, but he's also someone that I can just be with. We can sit together and just read and be quiet and comfortable in the silence."

Nell tilted her head to look up at him. "He's very very special to me."

Summer had made it maybe five minutes on the treadmill before she remembered that running workouts were bullshit.

"Glaaa~adio~! Can you help spot me on the weight bench? I can ask Sonja, too, if you're bu~usy!"
