Good news! Last week's 'Endless Treadmill' had been fixed and was now functioning like a normal treadmill again!

Bad news! Now the crane machine in the lobby was broken instead!

Well. 'Broken.' Gladio wasn't sure he could figure out how, or if he even wanted to figure out how, but, apparently, a gremlin had managed to get itself stuck inside the machine, and was tangled up in the claw mechanism to boot. And the guy working the desk at the night shift lost the key to open the machine to make it easier to free the gremlin.

So of course Gladio asked why he didn't just call him to come down with his key to help, but apparently, the guy didn't want to interrupt him on a nice quiet evening at home! Which was pretty nice of the guy, but sucked pretty hard for the gremlin.

"Fair warning," he told him, as he fished out his keys and shook his head, "if this guy wants to bite you once we manage to get him out, I'm not going to stop him, and I can't really blame him for it, either."

"Yeah, I'm going to put my vote in for no on the new Gremlin Flavored Cup Noodle," Summer offered wryly on her way into the gym that morning to see what all the commotion was about, and then proceeded to go work out in as far away of a spot from all that as possible.

Nell was also swinging clear of the gremlin today. In fact, she was most likely going to be on a whole other level. Since no one ever seemed to use the pool she'd brought her version of a swimming costume - long shorts and a t-shirt - and thought she might try a little swimming. In the shallower end where she could still touch the bottom if she needed to.

Distracted as he was with getting the gremlin out of the machine, Gladio had seen Nell come in but didn't get much of a chance to really bother her. And by the time he was finished (or at least needed a break), he was pretty sure he hadn't seen her leaving (he felt she'd at least say something on the way out!), so he went to see if he could go ~~bug her~~ find her.

And was pleasantly surprised that the search lead him down to the pool.

"Hot springs weren't enough for you yesterday, huh?"

Nell smiled up at him. "I'm being a water nymph this week," she teased. "And this water is lovely."

"Good to know the filter's been working, then," Gladio said with a chuckle, stepping a little closer to the pool's edge to crouch down and grin over at Nell better. He leaned forward a bit to skim a hand into the surface of the water, as if to test it for himself. "And this week, huh? Maybe I should try to think of more water stuff this week to get the most out of this new nymph thing you got going on."

And if Nell didn't at least reach out to take his hand and tug him into the water she would have been very disappointed in herself.

So she did.

"More water activities sounds good," she said with a grin.

Gladio could have anchored himself to keep on dry land the moment he started to feel Nell giving him a tug. He could have pulled back and probably just pluck her right out of the water.

But what fun would that be?

Besides, if she made thr first move, all bets were off, and now that he was in the pool, there was nothing holding him back from just throwing him big strong arms around her and pulling her in.

"You know if you wanted me to join you," he pointed out as he did just that, "you could have just asked."

"I thought I did," she said with a grin. "You joined me after all."

Having his arms around her was always a good thing.

"Uh-huh," Gladio sounded a bit dubious as he rested his chin on the top of Nell's head. "And maybe I'm not going to feel bad about it later when I come home and my shoes are still wet on our carpet."

"As if we can't take our shoes off when we come in the house," Nell said with a smile. "I think we'll manage."

She sighed contentedly. "Besides, isn't this nice?"

"I'd be nicer," Gladio grumbled, but there was clearly a grin in it, too, "without wet socks."

Or wet everything, but at least one of those things were easily fixed.

"Hold on," he said, letting her go for a moment so that he could peel at least his soaked shirt off and toss that to the pool side before returning to position.

"That's better."

"Maybe your eagle wanted a nice dip in the water," Nell said with a grin, and splashed it a little.

"She does get pretty hot and stuffy whenever she's stuck in a shirt too long," Gladio informed her, with a sage-like nod that was a bit spoiled by his laugh. "That's why I gotta take 'em off so much, you know. Gotta let that eagle fly."

And, of course, he was going to have to pose and flex to spread those wings effectively, too.

"Oooh," Nell said, fluttering her eyelashes and fanning herself. "I'm not sure my little heart can take all that greatness!"
