Trooper Station, Wednesday - 7/23

Why was there composite sketch of a penguin on Danny's desk? Why was there an entire whiteboard, complete with red string connecting random things in the trooper area?

Danny was not going to question any of that, honestly. He was just going to hope whatever weirdness they had going wasn't going to drag him into some sort of rickshaw chase again. He was good on those for a while, thanks.

But he was going to put the penguin picture on Steve's desk.

"I won!" Steve announced triumphantly, striding into the office to continue his shift.

"You won?" Danny asked slowly.

[grenadesandohana]

"I won the rickshaw race," Steve said, nodding.

[hatesparadise]

"There was a rickshaw... the thing in the park?" Danny asked with a sigh. Because if you just got into a random race, Steven...

Steve nodded. "We raced three different races. I won the rickshaw."

[hatesparadise]

"No trophy? No sash?" Danny asked, glancing around like he was looking for them.

[grenadesandohana]

"Sadly, no," Steve said. "Just the shirt."

[hatesparadise]

"The shirt that will disappear the moment it's laundry time," Danny agreed.

"Because you're so jealous of its awesomeness," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"Believe me, I am not," Danny replied oh so dryly. "I suppose it's good you didn't show up sticky or muddy."

"I think we're still sticky enough from last week," Steve said. "Skywalker probably broke the budget on the slides last week."

"Hence my being glad." That had been one hell of a mess when Steve got back to their place.

Steve laughed. "You could come out and watch," he said. "He might not pick you."

"Why risk it?"

Because he knew Steve would put Danny's name in the mix. He knew.

"Because it's fun?" Steve said with a grin.

[hatesparadise]

Danny hummed, pretending to consider it, as he smoothed down Steve's terrible shirt. "Nah."

"Fun-suck," Steve teased. "...why is there a penguin picture on my desk?"

"I was hoping you'd know," Danny admitted, gesturing over at the Troopers and their white board of conspiracies.

[grenadesandohana]

"We got a call on Monday about a stolen penguin," Steve said. "Maybe they've taken it and gone completely insane?"

[hatesparadise]

Danny just looked at the huddle of white armor. "Yeah. Yeah, I think they did."

They were bored, you guys. Let them have this.

"I don't think the penguin is even here," Steve muttered.

[hatesparadise]

"They'll forget about it by next week," Danny said, possibly mostly out of hope than anything else.

"I really hope so, but at least it's a shift from the Bee Lady?" Steve said.

"...you have me there."

She was next. God help them.

"Unless she's got a new penguin?"
