The Devil's Nest, Monday Night

Eric was --horrors-- behind the bar tonight because Tiny had claimed that seeing meta for Princess Bride was part of his religious tradition and you know, Eric just didn't want to ask follow-up questions.

Tiny was gone, Eric was only going to get you drinks that required the least possible effort, but the Devil's Nest was open?

And Jaina came by after the twins had decided they were done, and by the time she got them home she'd missed too much of the movie to go back.

"Are you on your own today?"

Eric sighed dramatically (especially since he didn't really need to breathe). "Yes. Tiny has gone to the movies."

Jaina tsked. "The abandonment. For shame."

"I'm taking it out of his paycheck," Eric said, nodding.

"I'll tip well," she promised.

[texted3times]

"I feel so dirty," Eric complained. "Vodka soda?"

[solo_sword]

"Yes. Unless you want to whip out the blender."

Brat.

"I do not," Eric said immediately.

[solo_sword]

"All right, fine." Dammit, Eric. "But I want a garnish."

Not really, but sometimes it was fun to bug him.

Eric pulled out the tray of garnishes. "Pick whatever you'd like."

"You're not going to pick one?" she asked.

[texted3times]

"It's your drink," Eric said. "Go crazy." Living here as long as had made him add, "but not too crazy. I'm not dealing with pickled onion Venus de Milos again."

"Good thing I'm not taking the pickled onions," she said, grabbing too many cherries.

Eric sighed.

Again, completely for drama.

"Not my fault I'm doing half the work," Jaina teased.

You two.

"Putting forty-seven cherries in a drink isn't doing half the work," Eric teased back.

[solo_sword]

"Isn't it? My drink is two ingredients," she pointed out.

And took another cherry.

"Three," Eric said, "if we count the cherries."

[solo_sword]

"Then I'm doing a third of the work until it's 48 cherries," she reasoned. "At which point it's gotta be half."

Eric laughed. "And I'll have to reorder the cherries."

"And that's why I tip well."

Eric laughed. "To supplement the cherries?"

[solo_sword]

"It's all about balance," she nodded.

[texted3times]

"You're the expert at balance," Eric said, nodding.

[solo_sword]

"I think of myself more as a very advanced student of it," she said. "But close."

"Here you are," Eric said, handing the drink over. "Four hundred cherries and as much vodka as would fit around them."

"If there's even one less than four hundred I'm going to be so upset," she said, taking the drink.
