Furnado Animal Shelter; Tuesday [08/26].

Prompto usually came in to do his work at the animal shelter on Wednesday, sure, but there was no way he would have missed the chance to celebrate a good number of Furnado's denizens on National Dog Day! Sorry, cats! But today was all about those good old boys, those peppy puppers, the delightful doggos, and Prompto, as a big canine fan himself (he'd even actually been one several times!), was going to go all out.

They had a big old banner outside and there was a big old dog-friendly cake, plenty of treats and toys and anything he could think of to celebrate dogs for their day, while giving copious amounts of apologies to the cats and promises to do the same when their day came around in October (which was close to his birthday, too, so that was cool, right?), and, besides, didn't they pretty much have every Caturday? It wouldn't hurt to give their other furry brethren a bit of a special day, right?

Right!

Also, puppies wearing party hats was a good reason to do anything, really, if you asked him!

Furnado is open!

Someone had been considering adopting a dog for some time now and a banner outside announcing National Dog Day was a very good reason for that someone to stop into the shelter and say hello to some dogs. And Prompto.

"Hello, Prompto," Stark said when he walked in.

"They have hats!"

"They do have hats!" Prompto confirmed, sounding delighted and not without his own hat either. "Happy National Dog Day, Stark!"

He blew a noisemaker and thr nearest puppies joined in with a few eager barks.

"Would you like a hat, too?"

Some had dog ears, and others were more traditional conical ones, decorated with sparkly bones and other dog-related details.

And a few cat ones, too. He would have felt bad leaving them out.

"I don't need a hat," Stark said quickly. There wasn't really anyone around who would appreciate seeing him look that silly, was there?

"I thought it might be a good day to visit the dogs. I saw the sign."

That wasn't true! The puppies would appreciate it! And Prompto felt he could argue that everyone needed a hat on National Dog Day, but he wasn't about to push it. Who was he? Apu??

"Any day is a good day to visit the dogs," he pointed out with a crooked sort of smile. "But, yeah, no, especially today! We've got lots of treats for them, too, if you wanted to spoil them a little. It is their day, after all!"

"It is," Stark agreed. "I ought to do it more often, maybe. "

So he could find one to love forever omg.

"And Id love to spoil them some."

He had so much affection going spare these days!
