Needful Things; Monday Afternoon
So the previous week had been distracting. Kinda really distracting, actually, more than enough so that all thoughts of doing things like getting the store officially open again had flitted right out of Harley's little head.
But Monday morning had rolled around, and immediately upon taking her first step out the door to take Bruce out for walkies, Harley had noticed how nice it was out. And it had felt to her as if something had shifted. Or maybe that was just her brain.
Either way:
"Ooh fucking fantastic!"
Waitaminute.
"Fuck, shit, motherfucker - we're back!!"
So the energy of the day was excitement. Which, sure, Harley had also managed to feel a bunch of over the week, especially the day with all the glitter (and there was so much glitter still everywhere) but still. When shewe assume returned from swim class, she left the store door wide open, and plastered a new hastily made sign in the window:
WE ARE RE-OPEN !!!
(open! for real, this time!)

"I see there's been some changes," she said with a smile.

That came with a sweeping gesture around the store at all the oh-so-illegally acquired merchandise. There was some really nice stuff, now!

Was that a philosophy she was adhering to with anything else? Ehhhh.

"Exactly," Rey said, and she really was interested in the new stuff. "So how've you been?"
Asked for no reason. No reason at all.

Ask her again in the evening once she was by herself (well, with Bruce, but still) up in her apartment, and the answer was very likely to be different.

Aaand a beat.
"I love it."

Also if you thought for a second Harley didn't also have a soft spot for 'together forever' romance, no matter how poorly told, you were a fool.
But that was neither here nor there. "Anyway!" she exclaimed, clutching her hands together. "I don't have dvds or nothin', to show ya what you've been missing right now, but can I interest you in something else? A nice lamp? New earrings? Umbrella stand?"
She had so many new-old things to sell!

She didn't. She actually had a lot of seating. But she was gonna buy a chair.
