The Perk, Tuesday Afternoon

Erasmus had received a slip letting him know he had a package to pick up at the post office that morning, so he'd gone to get it after his class. Sadly, it didn't include even a prototype 'try this and tell me what happens' charm to try to block the Chain Veil (his father was working on it; Erasmus really hoped he was sleeping at some point), but it did contain a full restock and then some on pain charms, which was great considering he had another date with a migraine scheduled for Thursday.

He wasn't worrying about that until Thursday.

After the post office, he'd decided to stop by the coffee shop, where he had continued to fail in obtaining sweet tea. Instead, after a very confusing conversation with the worker at the register, he'd ended up with an iced pumpkin spice latte, which was...well, he had been trying to get something iced. He'd give them that.

"I'm just gonna have to make my own tea, ain't I?" he muttered, and took a sip of his coffee. It wasn't bad.

Jon was also there on a hunt for tea, though as he was looking for hot tea with milk and sugar, he had a bit more luck.

He nodded politely to Erasmus.

"Hi," Erasmus said politely in return.

Jon took a sip of his tea and paused. Then he sighed. "It's that time of year again, I see."

"Sorry?" Erasmus asked.

Ah, faux fall. When the leaves were falling because it was too hot and they had given up.

Maybe that didn't happen here, actually. It was pretty chilly today. (It was seventy degrees.)

"Pumpkin spice season," Jon explained. "It seems like it gets into everything here." He shrugged.

"Oh, well," Eraasmus said. "Tis the season, I guess." Even if he'd just wanted a sweet tea. "Even if the decorative gourds haven't taken over yet." Give it time.

"They will," Jon said. "Although hopefully only metaphorically."

You had to specify these things in Fandom.

"You're in Liliana's class. Erasmus. I'm Jon." In case he'd missed that; he'd seemed a bit out of it.

Yeah, he really hadn't noticed anyone else in that class for reasons. Chain Veil reasons.

"Oh," Erasmus said. "Yes, that's me. I'm sorry, I didn't realize. Hi."

"Oh, it's...it's quite all right," Jon assured him. "You were having a hard time of it. I understand that. I hope you can figure it out."
